It's Castillo's deception that leaves should be punished. Lets not forget that this is the SECOND time this happends.

BTW Corrales is not a ***** for wanting to get reimbursed for his work. He trained hard for months and accrued training camp bills during this time i.e. Room board, gym rental, sparring partners. Corrales deserves to be compensated but not at an amount larger than what he would've gotten had the fight actually been fought.
100% accurate post. Thank you for telling it like it is. I'm pretty sure you were a Castillo fan before all this, maybe you still are, so I appreciate your honesty.

Actually Castillo never beat Corrales without a weight advantage over a weight drained opponent. Furthermore, you can't really call Corrales the coward when Castillo is the one who kept his weight problem a secret hoping to lure Corrales into another bout where he would be weight drained. And why would Corrales want Castillo far away? He has already said he will never waste his time training to fight Castillo again. I don't see how any of you can defend Castillo. It's truly pathetic and I respect none of you that have attempted to defend him.

The fact is Castillo asked Corrales to make the weight for the next division up, simple 5 pounds, but Chico, knowing Castillo couldn't make it without going to a Death Camp, refused...why? because Chico wants to fight a drained to the bone fighter to feel good about himself.

These guys call themselves "Warriors", but when one opponent can't make weight anymore, they ***** out...seriously, Chico doesn't care about another fighters health and life; that is why he wants Castillo to come down at a weight that is almost impossible for him to make, and now wanted to send Castillo into bankruptcy.

Chico deserves to get paid for the fight, but only the amount owed to him, not some crazy number like 12 million that I am reading that is reported; if that is true, **** HIM

When castillo came in 5 pounds over at the weigh in for Rolando Reyes. Reyes wasnt' knocked out. Reyes didn't complain. Reyes even stunned Corrales a couple times.

You don't fight, you don't get paid.

Time was when discrepancies in weight was resolved by the convenience of having the champion stripped of his title (if it is the champ who failed to make weight) or the challenger being refused the chance to wrest the title. Those, indeed, were simpler times; so simple that a 147 lbs. Sugar Ray Robinson thought nothing of facing a 157 lbs. Jake La Motta and a 142 lbs. Henry Armstrong didn't consider calling lawyers about the weight of the 153 lbs. Ceferino Garcia.

Today, boxing has become so complicated that we have seen world champions winning titles not in the ring, where those used to be won, but in proceedings in some state commissions or alphabet bodies, sometimes by force of a judicial edict or two.

Also today, a John Ruiz can go to court to demand payment from James Toney for some claimed slight. And to think he bills himself as, "The Quiet Man."

Am I alone in wishing that more of the action be left inside the ring than are brought outside of it? I'm sure I'm not.

You make it sound so simple Bro. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

It's just not a matter of fighting. Boxers have to MEET certain rules and guidelines in order for a fight to push through. Boxing is a sport that involves a lot of money that's why everything in it, is bounded by rules, laws and contracts to protect interests of parties.

This is boxing we're talking about a warrior sport. If corralas still wanted the fight so he can get paid, the fight would have gone on and the boxing commision would have approved. Fines would have been imposed on castillo and they still fight, as has been done in the past.

this is the biggest ******ed statement that i've ever heard/read.

for ****ing up the whole fight, the promotion, the trilogy, and all that was invovled, getting sued and a suspension is the least that should happen to him.

****, i'm sure there are people out there that want to kill castillo for ****ing up the whole jam.

although that is way over the top and extreme, i'm sure there are folks that want blood, the only ones that want to hurt him worse are those going for the pocket book.

i think he should cough up the cash and take the hit, he ****ed up royaly, twice!, the first time he got away with it in their rematch.....

if its about money, which it seems it is. then corrales ****ed himself for not going through with the fight. why complain when you did'nt go along with the fight. you were going to get a big chunk of castillos check but corrales refused too, so don't complian.
