Where is the term "genuine middleweight " defined? I've searched and I see nothing at all with that particular term. I've seen, and provided, info from wbc which states a fight at a catch is considered to be in the division the catch falls in. Where is your support for your fact?

What's a list of historical fights not involving Canelo that happened @ 155. You said it was common.

Canelo doesn't really put much effort into hiding the fact that he plays political games with weight but all of these guys on forums take up the slack for him. It's silly. Nobody needs a 155 catchweight. It's just a way to avoid titlist obligations. Period. There is no counterargument.
he didnt have a title at 154, therefore had no obligations to fight at certain weight..

So you were talking bull**** & keep trying to sidetrack. 155 is not a "common catchweight"? I asked for a list of noteworthy historical fights at 155, 3 times...

if he was a mw, then why no one ranked him as mw when he was doing those 155 fights?? neither lara, angulo, trout, charlo, kirkland, etc... why didnt any organizaton ranked any of them or the many more that do cws??? is there a rule that states they belong on a new division for fighting cws above the limit??? cuz if there isnt then all your technicism means nothing... you can have your opinion but thats about it... cws do exist in boxing, believe it or not...

it is common for fighters to make cws 1 or 2 lbs above their limit... there is plenty of fighters doing it, do your homework and check boxrec if you want... if you dont know about cws then i dont know what sport have you been following...

firstly..... kid, stop taking selfies in a airport toilet

              you looked like a pedo

              secondly.....

Golovkin..... being full-of-shht, and not wanting to have his hype-train derailed..... offered Rosado/Brook a catchweight, but then totally refused to negotiate on weight with Cotto and Canelo..... bizarrely, Golovkin then stated that he is willing and able to fight at 154, but nobody will step up

so..... rather than re-labeling 155lb Canelo as a middleweight, in order to remove the egg from both of Golovkin's face's..... be a man and call out Golovkin for his lies, inconsistencies, and bizarre refusal to negotiate on weight with superstars despite the fact that he was willing to negotiate on weight with no-hopers.....

              ..... you spastic fanboy clown

when Canelo fought Liam Smith at 154 to win the WBO JMW title, that "Canelo is a middleweight" ******ity should have stopped..... but you were not smart enough to know the jig is up

you are just another d1ckhead casual-fan, who decided to embarrass himself by saying DUMB SHHT

FACT: anyone who thinks that Cotto was a genuine middleweight..... is "special"

FACT: anyone who refers to a fighter who has never weighed more than 155, as a genuine middleweight..... is even more "special"

can you say..... dumbass casual fan ? lol

IN ADDITION to preparing to weigh-in at 160, in order to fight a middleweight opponent..... a fighter would need to be conditioned to that weight, to be regarded as a GENUINE middleweight

Let's try this again, maybe you can give a coherent answer this time.

Where is the definition of the term "genuine middleweight " that you're using? A link or reference to a book or something would be nice

Yes. I know GGG is my hero, king, fantasy that I live vicariously through and all that, and should be regarded as the absolute authoritarian on all issues, but unfortunately I'm going to defer to the WBC in the matter since they're an actual sanctioning body and lil g isn't.

                      This is what WBC says:

There are 2 scenarios in which catch weight fights have been scheduled

A-. World title fight scheduled to x division in which the fighters agree to have a limit of how much they can weight . For example a fight scheduled at welterweight which the limit is 147 lbs. and the fighters agree on weighing 144 maximum. For boxing regulation the fight is within the 147 category, so it is an official welterweight fight.
