he will obviously be better/stronger at 160, and it may help his conditioning

when Canelo was fighting at 155, were you aware that he will be stronger/better at 160?

well, a fighter who weighs 154.1 is OBVIOUSLY not a middleweight..... and neither is one who weighs-in at 155

that is one question, but the main question is this.....

        Q. calling a fighter who weighs 155 a genuine middleweight, is a HUGE stretch, and being more than a bit silly..... so how the fk is it possible for an intelligent man to continue calling Canelo a middleweight AFTER he weighed in at 154 for Smith?

        A. an intelligent man, simply could not..... but as for excuse-making muppets?..... they can do anything
The thing is, someone who weighs in at 155 is a mw...not sure why you're arguing that. The division limit for jrmw is 154. He's certainly a mw now anyway, so who really cares.

I'm aware most fighters are better/stronger when they don't kill themselves to make weight. I'm not sure about Canelo cuz I don't know how hard making 154 was getting for him...i have to assume it wasn't the easiest or why bother with the extra pound.

Yea, you should forget it...it's a pointless argument. 155lbs is within the mw limit and beyond the jrmw limit. That fighter may be closer to being a jrmw, but he's not a jrmw til he cuts that extra lb.

no, that is not true..... because genuine middleweights can weigh up to 160..... and Canelo's catchweights were 155, only 1 pound over the JMW limit

that really is an absurd argument if you understand about making/building/maintaining weight

which is why I asked you this question.....

when Canelo was fighting at 155, were you aware that he would be stronger/better at 160?

the only way your statement in bold could even be slightly correct, would be if you added the word "technically" to the front of that sentence

but yea, " technically " is bullshht..... that word is usually reserved for liars, bullshht-artists, and businessmen who are about to go broke

if you were aware that 155lb Canelo will be better/stronger at 160..... than you are talking BOLLOCKS by referring to him as a genuine middleweight

No, not technically...someone who weighs in at 155 is literally a mw. If anything, claiming someone who exceeds the division limit is still a jrmw should have "technically" in front of it.

                    name a middleweight who weighs 155 ?

that is utterly ridiculous, middleweights weigh 160

" middleweight is 160.... this is boxing " ~ Golovkin

you are talking utter bollocks..... that is calculator/video-game/casual-fan, boxing lol

I don't think you realize that weight matters, and why

why did Golovkin totally refused to negotiate on weight with the SUPERSTARS Cotto and Canelo...... despite happily offering a catchweight to no-hopers like Rosado/Brook?

why did Golovkin state that he is ready and willing to fight a JMW at 154, if only somebody would step up..... AFTER refusing to negotiate on weight with Cotto Canelo?

armed with the benefit of hindsight, now that you have seen Golovkin/Canelo at 160.,.... who do you think would have won if Golovkin had agreed to fight at 155?

It doesn't matter what mw has weighed 155 or if a mw can weigh up to 160....the division ranges from 154.1-160. A fighter weighing 155 is a mw, end of story. Whether or not he fits your special criteria for what constitutes a mw is another story obviously.

I have no idea who would have won if they fought at 155...would the fight have happened a year and a half earlier? Gbp and Canelo called himself the mw champion...why would the fight happen at 155 anyway? He could have Just moved back to 154 and not faced ggg. Instead he pulled a stunt by vacating the wbc belt so he could still have the fight sanctioned while limiting ggg's weight and no doubt still call it a mw championship fight. The whole thing was lame...glad he finally just moved to mw and made the fight.
