Comments Thread For: Whyte Livid With WBC - Breazeale-Molina Winner in Line For Wilder

British heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte is furious with the World Boxing Council, after reading on their website that Saturday's fight, between Dominic Breazeale and Eric Molina, is a WBC sanctioned final eliminator for a crack at world champion Deontay Wilder. Breazeale vs. Molina takes place as part of the undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. In the main event, Wilder fights Stiverne in a rematch.

Dillian Whyte won an eliminator less than a year ago, but not a final eliminator.

Stiverne was already mandatory and agreed to face Breazeale in a final eliminator. When King Kong's drug test messed up the card, Breazeale's final eliminator can't just be taken away from him. Lawsuit waiting to happen. So the WBC's only choice was to have Breazeale fight the next available leading contender, which ended up being Molina.

Whyte fought on 10/28, so obviously he was unavailable for the 11/4 final eliminator. That's why he was skipped over.

Whyte will get a final eliminator next year and if he wins, he'll be the mandatory for 2019, which means it could take until 2020 to force the fight.

      Welcome to boxing.

Baseless accusation with zero understanding of the facts.

Sweet comeback! And might I add, you have zero understanding of sarcasm. Don't let the unchecked ego run something as mundane as a reply on a message board. Have a GREAT evening!

He's right. WBC is garbage and it seems all you have to do is stay inactive maybe fight a bum or two every couple of years and you can jump the queue to be in an eliminator or mandatory spot. Molina is awful and will potentially be in three title fights in a short space of time and less said about Stiverne the better

Surely the fact that he fought in a WBC sanctioned fight for the WBC silver title has some relevance here?

Doesn't change the fact that Breazeale was guaranteed a final eliminator which can't just be taken away.

Whyte will likely be the mandatory after Breazeale. King Kong's drug test failure screwed up a lot of things for a lot of people.

But had King Kong not failed, Breazeale or Stiverne would have been the 2018 mandatory so Whyte would be the 2019 mandatory regardless.

Sad but that seems to be what has to happen in order to become a mandatory. WBC is such trash
