This Clean Boxing program has little teeth beyond the WBC & based on this news the state or country the fight was being held in I'd assume. But moving forward I won't be surprised if we see Ortiz fight this year still.
Whyte was banned for two years, Thompson was unable to fight for a period in the U.K. I believe, I don't understand how it works, it's an absolute mystery to me how a popped doper is able to continue his career. Boxing sucks ass, I'm tired of watching guys who don't care about legacy pad their bank accounts avoiding the fights that matter, I've fallen back in love with football and motor racing lately but this year we've had some big fights.

If they sanctioned the fight and something happened to Wilder that $22mil would seem like a drop in the bucket compared to what they'd have to pay out to Wilder's family. They know going into the fight that Ortiz failed a drug test they're accepting liability if something were to happen to Wilder.

Seems like MMA has things lined up nicely with this stuff although when a guy is popped by the USADA in the UFC the UFC is able to hem him up even if the fight is scheduled in a bs commissioned state/country cuz they have him under contract.
In boxing cuz everyone is some level of free agent typically & a promoter in boxing isn't looking to hem up his own guy usually + abc groups have no ability to stop a guy from fighting + the commissions don't seem fully on board or even aware of or agree with the WBC or any other abc groups OST program or about the calls they make its all one big clusterf#ck, as usual, it seems.

I don't rate in the least, he's another over hyped one dimensional heavy hitter, minimal skill but I call it how I see it. How is Wilder possibly to blame for a guy attempting to cheat to gain an edge.

Povetkin tested positive for PEDs for the 2nd time in 7 months last December and he was allowed to knock out Johann Duhaupas less than 24 hours later. Think about that. A guy gets popped 2 times in 7 months, they fly in a replacement on 24 hours notice and feed it to that roid factory.
