To be fair, he did call out Ward right after the second Kovalev fight. For example,:




It's actually Ward who said that Stevenson hadn't done enough to be granted a fight. While boxing is too dangerous of a sport to do when the motivation is gone, I'm surprised Ward couldn't muster enough motivation to go after the last belt and then retire as the undisputed LHW champion.
