Stevenson would put Kovalev to sleep pretty fast and Duva want allow that to happen. They will create all kinds of excuses under the sun but we know they are just excuses.

        Too old to fight?

The interviewer should've immediately asked her - "Was Bernard Hopkins too old to fight?" NP!

Stevenson is the best known Light Heavy in the world along with Ward & Koval.
The 40 year old is just BS they don't want to take a chance on this guy landing on Koval at this point in Kovals career.

Granted Stevenson may not draw worth a dame but Koval can't draw flies either.

I think it's the best 175lb. fight out there right now!

          Ring the damn bell..........

I absolutely agree with you, except Stevenson does draw well in Montreal, and I believe there would be a lot of interest in fans seeing this fight between two hard punchers. Just don't make it PPV and it's all good. Plus, look at who Kovalev is fighting next. #excuses

We have Superman, King Kong, Krusher, Godzilla, even Son of God fighting in this era of cartoon boxing. Somebody give us a break. What happen to Ironman ?

"except Stevenson does draw well in Montreal"..........

I know that he does well there but he has very little intrigue inter nationally.
Koval has very little time to get back to a true contender status. His character is now in question and he needs to buy in to a trainer who is dead serious about boxing!
He needs to get back to a hard jab and working off it "more than often"!! I think the next opponent is a must but after that it's time to get real or go home.

Another way for Duva to graciously decline any sort of talking with GYM... That's what, 3rd time now ?... We can draw our own conclusion about all the fuss that went on then ...

Of all the matchups for a belt that one would be the easiest to make for now... Stevenson would be all over this after seeing how bad Kovalev looked with that middle of the road right hand from Ward...

I think it will have to happen. Don't see how either of them is going to make money otherwise. Jack and Barrera aren't that exciting. Beterbiev is an option I guess but he is taking his sweet time about things.
