Anybody trying to claim Badou is ducking is a straight clown. Nobody has put in more work in the last two years than this guy. He ain't tripping about a fight with Bivol.
I'm sure this move was made with a fight in mind. We'll just have to wait and see.

Disappointing for Jack. Interested to see if he has another title chance coming.
I wonder if he was told by his management team to vacate and was promised a title chance before years end.
Bivol looks to be a future champion for sure.

Hopefully there is a tournament now at 175 for all the belts.
WBC: Stevenson vs Alvarez
WBA: Bivol vs Barrera
WBO: Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk
IBF: Kovalev vs Jack
Then WBC winner fights WBA winner, (and loser fights loser), and WBO winner fights IBF winner, (and loser fights loser), and then the winners of those fight each other, while the double-losers go back to the gym and improve so they can rebuild for another crack at the top of the division in the future, like a sport is supposed to work.
That tournament over the next 12 to 15 months could net us these interesting fights:
Kovalev vs Jack, Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk, Stevenson vs Bivol, Kovalev vs Beterbiev, and Kovalev/Beterbiev vs Stevenson/Bivol in the winners bracket, Beterbiev/Kovalev vs Bivol/Stevenson in the semifinal losers bracket, and Jack vs Gvozdyk/Beterbiev in the quarterfinal loser's bracket.
You think 2017 was a good year in boxing? That's seven top level fights boxing could have in just the next 12 months, all between punchers, all from one division, if it only functioned as a sport. And then if it could only function as a sport in every division, if you extrapolate those numbers out, the sport could actually have multiple top-level fights every single weekend of the entire year. 2017 is a good year in boxing compared to the last decade, but 2017 still ain't **** compared to what is actually possible if the best fought the best in each other's primes.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 09-23-2017, 04:54 PM.
