I doubt that the deal is coming due anytime soon, and I doubt that Showtime passes on any Anthony Joshua fight until at least the Deontay Wilder showdown.
The way I read that article is they have the right to shop the fight even WHEN Showtime makes an offer & then if Hearn finds a superior offer Showtime will match it or not. And things move from there with if its some other network or Showtime who'll show the fight.

And I have no reason based on that article to believe this upcoming fight isn't the last fight on their contract based on the matching offer option typically being the last fight of a deal. I don't believe Hearn would sell THAT many fights or give THAT many options to Showtime.

Don't know whether Showtime or HBO make any money or gain subscribers off of these UK fights. Time difference makes them very unattractive to fans in North America.
There's just no way around it.
Australians did the Pac/Horn fight in the morning and Americans saw the fight on a regular Saturday evening.

I don't think it'll be all that sucessfull props to him though if he can pull it off

Besides AJ, Matchroom doesn't have much Brooks probably on his last legs, C Smith might draw some small interest. Degeale is Haymon affiliated, Bellew might have a fight or 2 left. Besides that I don't see guys being a draw

Yeah he's a big fish in a small pond in the UK and has done a good job over there. But North American fans aren't going to clamour for mostly 2nd rate fights involving 1 or 2 UK based fighters the way the UK does

Hbo might not even have a choice though. Golden boy has 1 marquee fighter and a handfull of decent fighters, Main Events has 1 marquee fighter coming off 2 losses and maybe 1or 2 decent names and K2 has 1 marquee fighter. Mathroom with or without AJ might have the deepest stable for them to show fights

Hopefully his rival Frank Warren follows suit and brings Box Nation across the pond!

Selby's brother has said Lee will announce a massive fight in the next few days, can only be Frampton surely? Frampton saying he'll announce a promoter in the next few days aswell, adds up. I agree, think itll be Hearn.

I would hope Hearn's US goal is to impact the US with fights with US guys involved. If they fight a lot of UK guys fair enough. There are quite a few world class UK guys these days who've gotten attention, but largely Hearn's US outfit will need US fighters to succeed unless he's just using this US outfit to maximize the Joshua worldwide tour thats surely in Hearn's long term goals list & he's not got any real goals towards making Whoop There It Is the US version of Sweet Caroline at boxing shows in the US.

                    Hmm...that Sweet Caroline thing.
Seems the UK makes more money selling tickets in the gates,
and PPVs are just bonuses for the promoters and fighters.
Theirs is more festive and it's got celebratory feel in it.
Most of the audience are standing with their drinks on hand, etc.
I've been in one of the Pac/Marquez fights in the US and people are packed like sardines somewhere in the back...
I could imagine the same in the UK no matter who fights.

                      LOL.

Well I've seen enough UK fights over the years & particularly recently & I definitely catch a vibe with Hearn/Matchroom that I don't catch with Warren or Hennessy or anyone else in the UK. Fans watching Hearn fights seem to be at a party like you are nearly suggesting & I'd agree with.

So idk what exactly Hearn is doing in the UK that others aren't, except putting on competitive fun fights from the bottom to the top of the card more often than anyone in that f#cking country, but I'm curious if he can recreate a more positive vibe among fans in the US & maybe kill some of that sardine seating, late arrival, not exactly hyped up to max levels vibe we got here. Thats one thing I think could help US boxing increase its market share if someone could make that boxing vibe more fun.

And its not like its a US thing cuz I see that similar vibe Hearn captures week after week when I watch the UFC capturing the fans imagination in a way boxing rarely can do.
