Can remember how I scored it for each round but overall I had GGG up by 2 or 3 points. 115-112 is about right from what I remember

I went back and actually scored the fight. I had Jacobs 116-112. I said earlier I would have had no problem with a 115-113 for Jacobs with the KD. The first round was uneventful but Jacobs landed a few more than Golovkin. I was surprised Lederman also gave that round to Jacobs and equally surprised all 3 judges have it to Golovkin. The second and third rounds were close but Jacobs did better in my opinion. The forth round was the best round for Golovkin. Not only did he score KD (although it was a slip and a push), but he also dominated with his jab. Incidentally, this was the only round Golovkin dominated with his jab. All those video clips of him landed all those jabs came from this round. The 5th round was pretty even so I scored it a draw. Jacobs started to do alot better in the 6th and had the momentum. I gave Jacobs 7 and 8. Golovkin won the 9th but it was only in the last 30 seconds. Jacobs was winning the round handily but when Golovkin came back late round with the crowd behind him, I had it give to him. Round 10 and 11 were clear rounds for Jacobs. I gave the 12th round to Golovkin but it was close.
This was a robbery plain and simple. I understand the politics behind the decision but it took away a great performance from Jacobs. If they wanted to preserve Golovkin's unbeaten record and still make the Canelo fight possible they could have called it a draw. It would be less of a momentum for the fight but the fact that he didn't win in a KO already knocked a little luster off the Golovkin shine so the draw wouldn't have done much worst.
Golovkin's looked really slow early in the fight. He also looked lost and hesitant throughout the fight. I've said Jacobs could have done more in the past but the only thing he could have done more was a KO. Jacobs landed a lot of punches but he hardly landed anything flush. When he did it didn't deter Golovkin but it didn't look good for Golovkin either.
Jacobs fought a hell of a fight. He did it all on heart. So many of Golovkin's opponents at some point decide they've had enough and concede the fight. Jacobs did not. On the other hand if this was a 15 round fight, Golovkin's would have stopped Jacobs. I believe he couldn't have lasted much longer on sheer heart alone.Last edited by HarvardBlue; 09-14-2017, 10:10 AM.
