If he doesn't get lured back by the money (fat chance of that happening!), he'll be back for the adoration. A character like Ricardo begs, craves for all the attention he can get! He's just having the funk of the magnitutde that only machomen can have after a loss. Or, if he's more clever than anyone gives him credit for, he could just merely be upping the ante for his next fight!?!

This isn't out of the blue!

A few months ago he said he wanted a couple more fights, then he was done. Apparently he doesn't want another. I wouldn't bet against him coming back, but with his **** case going on right now, it's not time to think about his next fight.

The sharp analyst that you are bro , i believe on this one.

Mayorga is far from done. He can still come back and fight Fernando Vargas (now that's gonna be one entertaining slugfest again!) or Oumma. Winky and Shane are big paydays for him, people will want to watch these too.

Nicaragua is a country in thirst of heroes; it's last one was the great Alexis Arguello, long retired. Mayorga has come on the scene. If one goes by what have been and continue to be reported in media, he's the one of biggest exports that country has, both legal and illegal. The wheels of justice have been known to be greased (by money, influence, public opinion, color perception, national pride, personal biases of jurists, etc.) in both/either direction/s, in every part of the world; Nicaragua cannot be better. The loss to Tito, I guess, has more impact on the psyche of the character that Mayorga is than the **** case he's facing. He has said that the case doesn't bother him.

Be that as it may, I think, he'll emerge from both woes, slightly scathed, but raring to pick up where he's left off in his career.

Save for Rocky Marciano, I couldn't remember any fighter who was at the peak of his popularity who stayed retired. If there was/were, I'm sure their number is pretty low. Even in the case of Rocky, it can be argued that had he not died soon after retirement in a plane crash, he would have staged a come-back. But that's in the realm of pure speculation. And so is this exercise we're having with regard Ricardo. Time will tell. But my guess is, he's not done with the ring yet. And that guess can be just as good as any's!
