I dont think this fight gained anything by being held this Sept rather than last Sept. If anything the massively drawn out build up has left me a little bit bored waiting.

Come fight week i will be buzzing obviously

I wouldn't have had a problem with Oscar delaying the fight till Canelo matured and GGG hit 35 if they had been honest about it, like BJS was.

But Oscar played a sneaky trick .. he made GGG an offer last year for a fight this September, and then accused GGG of delaying when he didn't sign it straight away.

Only a boxing promoter would play a dumb trick like that, because only boxing has fans dumb enough to fall for it.

exactly. the fight has no buzz right now and it was supposed to be the biggest fight in boxing.

well they let Floyd come in and take all the spotlight. I can't remember a time where boxing is on the debate shows everyday. and it's been like this for the last month.

it's like canelo vs golovkin isnt even happening.

Oscar dumb ass cost all parties involved money because the fight should have happened last September where there was no competition.

i wont be surprised if canelo vs ggg does less ppv buys than canelo vs chavez jr just because of Floyd vs Conor taking the shine

This fight should have happened 2 years ago. Canelo and his belt were just an obstacle in GGG's path. It should have never been such a big deal, till canelo made a fool of himself. I would have rather seen GGG chase and unify all titles then move up.

Exactly If team canelo had took the fight when they were meant to they would never have this problem...instead May/Mac will steal a lot of their ppv buys and if canelo comes unstuck it would have doubly back fired lol.

This fight has "marinated" just perfectly, if you're Canelo! I wouldn't say the same for GGG. 2 years ago, I would say this fight was 80/20 GGG, now it's a 50/50 fight. I don't like the strategy of "building up fights," especially when fighting bums in meantime, i.e. Wilder vs. Joshua! Did we really need to see Lomachenko vs. Sosa and Marriaga, just to get to Rigondeaux? NO!

Not as big as Joshua-Klitschko it's not. And, fight wise, not as big as Ward-Kovalev either.

hmmm well if it isn't happening I can't understand why I can't find a ticket for less than $800. The fights is still nearly a month away and there is a lot of pub for the Mayweather-McGregor fight this weekend. Still say it will underperform expectations (just a gut feeling) and GGG-Canelo will surpass 1MM buys.

The Joshua-Klitschko fight had absolutely no buzz in North America, none.

I think Golovkin-Canelo is more interesting than Ward-Kovalev II. Will the fight be better, we'll see.
