These Doctors are idiots, it is the bigger gloves that cause the damage.
It is not the bluntness of force that does the damage it is your head getting flung back and then your neck stopping it from flying off, when your brain is still moving inside causing it to crash against your skull.
Bigger gloves make this more likely to happen, while the smaller glove will create more facial damage absorbing the impact their will be a reduction in inertia of the brain.
The introduction of gloves into the sport of boxing made brain injuries sky rocket.

Exactly that is where it should have been stopped.
If McGreggor suffers any permanent damage, his family should sue the **** out of NSAC

Could you argue that to a jury successfully? Could you argue that Conor, as a complete novice, was totally and wholly aware of the risks? Surely that's the job of the NSAC, to keep him safe.
Look, I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I know the score and so do you. But the fact is, it doesn't matter if Conor agreed to it or not. The point of the NSAC is that they are there to implement rules and regulations that safeguard and protect the welfare of fighters. Otherwise anyone could fight anyone, gloves or no gloves, at any weight, just because they want to.
Simply by saying 'well they agreed to it' is not a defence to negligence.
I'm just saying, try and convince a jury that the totally random one-off waiver you signed that allowed these fighters to wear 8oz gloves had absolutely no bearing on the fact the first-time boxer ended up with brain damage. You'd get torn apart by a decent lawyer.
Will it happen? Hopefully not. It's not likely, and I don't think 8oz would make a difference if it was to happen. But the scenario above will absolutely feature in NSAC's decision making process.
And if Conor McGregor f'n agrees and even advocates using gloves of that size, then how the hell would he (or his family) be able to sue them after the fact should he get hurt? The man even comes from a sport where they all wear 4oz gloves for goodness sake.

Faster KO with 8 ounce gloves than 10 ounce, different UD vs KO odds, rds before a KD, etc.

What does it matter, really? It's not like Floyd hasn't fought in 8oz before; he knows the difference and it's not in his agenda to let it be a factor. It really only matters to he whom gets hit with the gloves. Touché, Floyd.Last edited by Gunpowdergreg; 08-15-2017, 08:52 PM.
