Crawford has been giving that same exact response at every interview in his entire career. Whoever it is that wrote this article tryna make it look like Crawford ducking Lipinets, sad thing is most people who didn't even read the article and went straight to the comments section will believe him, even though Crawford didn't even hint at ducking anyone.

Well, that’s my manager and my promoters’ and my coach’s job,” Crawford replied when asked whether he would remain at 140 pounds to make a title defense against Lipinets. “As a fighter, I’m willing to fight anyone, so that’s gonna be up to them if I go up in weight or stay at 140 or move up.”
Uhhh Crawford vs Lipinits is nowhere near the biggest fight in boxing. It's not even the biggest fight at 140.

      At least use context.

What is it with the IBF and choking up the schedules of the top boxers with mandatory fights against obscure and subpar challengers?

Its pretty much the same thing. A smaller talented guy fighting a more bigger talented fighter. Except this scenario their both in the same weight class

Lol he did sound like a puppet unfortunately. He even said they tell him what weight he'll fight in next.
I would love for him to call out mickey after his fight but i dont think he would

The f#cked up thing is he probably legit don't know cuz its his manager & promoters job & he's just lke the truck driver going to wherever to deliver whatever once they decide it for him.

Damn shame so many fighters take a backseat to their own career trajectory like this.

you completely missed the whole point of that statement. look at the bolded part from carwford when asked about potential future opponents. he said its up to his promotor and that its not on him. this is similar to what manny always says when asked about future opponents, yet manny get crucify for it.

You completely missed the point of my reply.

Manny Pacquiao got crucified for not pushing for good fights, instead saying that you have to talk to his promoter.

Crawford saying this for a scrub like Lipinets doesn't warrant him getting crucified. Which is why I said to use context at least. If you're going to compare the two saying these statements, use it when Crawford is using the statements to duck a challenge.

The only fight I would care to see him make at 140 after this is Mikey, but honestly, that's probably a long shot. A move up to 147 should be the most likely next option. Also, the dude has a pretty damn important fight in less than a week. Wait to ask him after the fight, if he wins, who he wants next.

oh. so now we justifying what we want?

                      the statement is the keyword.

what crawford is saying is the main point of this. i dont care who he is fighting next, his reply when asked about future opponents is the same as manny. "talk to my promotor", "it's not up to me", "i'll fight anyone".
