I thought Cotto was done after the beating he took at the hands of Margarito. Champ was never the same after that fight. Glad he had the success afterwards but he definitely needs to call it quits. His better days are well behind him.

That's when you realize your body can't handle it anymore. Just saying cotto wasn't talking like this before training camp and he rocking a black eye probably saying to myself I made money do I really need this anymore.

Cotto rocking a black eye is he getting worked over from sparring?
I been saying from day 1 this kamegai fight could be very interesting. Age, and more importantly the 2 year layoff, and he's facing a iron chinned, hard puncher. Ka****i only knows one way to fight and that brawling coming forward throwing high volume. If Cotto ain't 100% into boxing he could be in for a long night.
This fight may turn out to be more than what people are thinking. I am guilty for bashing the Pacquiao-Horn fight along with many others and that fight turned out to be a lot better than what people thought.
Because of that I am not going to write off fights like Cotto-Kamegai and even Mayweather-McGregor.
I know most of us still have an idea of what may happen in these fights based on our years of being fans and analyzing fighters, styles, age, technique, circumstances, etc...
But I'm starting to think this fight that Cotto is going into may be more than what I am thinking it's going to be. 2 year layoff, age may play a factor in these upcoming fights with Cotto and Mayweather.
One thing is for sure, I won't write it off like I did with Pacquiao-Horn.Last edited by The Time; 08-03-2017, 10:07 AM.

I'll take the over on Cotto's last fight being this year.
I think he's gotta be going for the Canelo rematch & I think that could or could not make sense before the end of the year, but it'd make the most sense & maximize both guys' upside by happening next May or September so whats the real hurry with having it happen inside of the next 4 months when 9mos or 13mos from now makes the money money sense.

Looking forward to seeing his last 2 match ups. I know Im Rican, but his style is always fun to watch. It similar to the way I feel about arthur abraham and his particular style. bull like, punches land with a thudd, always expecting something to land that could bring a little drama.

Individuals who claim to be fans of boxing but bash these guys who are retiring instead of being happy with the entertainment they provided you need to go hang out with some ignorant casuals, or the MMA community.
There is a reason boxing doesn't elevate past the hardcore fan base, too many individuals talk **** about the sport they apparently "love" so much smh.
