one thing i respect about cotto is that he took on ALL fighters when it matters! never complain about losing either. never complain about marg and the loaded gloves issues, never made excuses as to why he lost to manny (floyd fans claim he was drained, rookie trainer).

Just a few weeks ago he was talking ago out potential fights going into 2018 why the sudden change where he is saying 2017 is the end? Maybe training is harder then he thought. He is is rocking a new shinner on his eye.

Cotto rocking a black eye is he getting worked over from sparring?

I been saying from day 1 this kamegai fight could be very interesting. Age, and more importantly the 2 year layoff, and he's facing a iron chinned, hard puncher. Ka****i only knows one way to fight and that brawling coming forward throwing high volume. If Cotto ain't 100% into boxing he could be in for a long night.

fighters that are thinking about retirement will never come out and say it from the start. he just started working with golden boy so of course he's not gonna come out and say im outs by the end of this year lol right from the start.

It's basically a fight by fight deal with golden boy I don't think it's that. Look at the NFL how many players saying I'm not retiring I'm coming back for the next season. And then training camp comes and NFL players drop like flies retiring. That's when you realize your body can't handle it anymore. Just saying cotto wasn't talking like this before training camp and he rocking a black eye probably saying to myself I made money do I really need this anymore.

i believe this will be the last we see of cotto. he's made his money and managed it well took on all comers in his heyday. The last 5 years or so he's taken long breaks in between fights you can just tell he's not hungry anymore. He's still got the skill, ability and physicality to hang with the best of them but when your hearts not in it anymore there's really no point. Sad to see the guys I grew up on in their final days (Cotto Pac Floyd Wlad)

Mayweather will too, he said McGregor is his last fight.

Pacquaio also may be done by years end after the Horn rematch.

This era of great fighters is coming to an end! Seems like all of the greatest fighters had or are having their last fight this year. Klitscho, Marquez, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto...
