They were making offers for years but it was always for a catchweight. So they weren't serious offers. Once Canelo became too fat for 154 they moved up and once GGG GGG struggled with Jacobs they made a real effort to make the deal.

These Charlo brothers need to carve their own niche and not rely too much on getting fights from popular fighters.
They have fan-friendly styles and they can make it on their own.
Charlo 1, for example, need to fight the likes of Andrade, Lara, etc.
Charlo 2 can go after Jacobs, Quillin, etc.
Bottom line is start with the ones in your own backyard.
How can you expect outsiders to fight you when you can't even make the ones in your stable to fight you?

Again dummy. All Loeffler ever did was confirm negotiations were taking place and offers being made. Loeffler rarely ever discussed specifics of negotiations with the media. Its Golden Boy that likes to negotiate through the media. There was never a set plan in place for a September 2017 GGG/Canelo fight. De La Hoya openly said on a number of occassions that there might be an immediate rematch with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr if the fight is exciting and does well enough. So stop pretending like there was something concrete set for that date for a long time.

I don't see Golovkin fighting Jermall no matter what. If Golovkin beats Canelo, he probably has to rematch him. Regardless of if he does or not, he probably unifies for the last belt against Saunders (or whomever holds it), and retires after that fight.
