True boxing fans know that Canelo has taken low reward/high risks fights. True boxing fans also know that boxing is a revenue driven business so Canelo and Golden Boy must also make high reward/low risk fights as well. Don't have to like Canelo but it's hard to argue with the results.

When you're clearly making catchweights comfortably to pick and choose from two weight classes, seemingly looks like you could have been a middleweight for years and you choose to fight Amir Khan...you know you're a cherry picker who has avoided a few credible opponents at your real weight.

I really really like Canelos boxing style, technique and huge improvement he's made since Mayweather too. It's a shame that I'm picking GGG to knock Canelo clean out only because he's been pulling a Mayweather since... well Mayweather.

I was the 1st one jn line talking shît about him fighting Kahn,that was a complete cherrypick, but these clowns around here act like hes some huge coward despite having the p4p number 1 resume on boxrec computer. Kirkland was no cherrypick & even smith wasn't a complete cherry as he still had a belt/was brit & was undefeated,chavez jr had huge fanbase canelo knew would roll with him vs ggg,& it was a tuneup at higher weight after breaking his hand vs smith. All these fanbois are doing what was predicted all along,their creating new boogieman.

Name a current fighter whos fought better opponents in last 7 fights( besides Ward) than lineal mw champ cotto/truly undefeated lara/kirkland/angulo/ on the trot,then he cherrypicked vs smith who was champ & kahn whos a big name star,& jr who prepared him at higher weight.

I love the confidence, these two guys are a threat to anyone at 154, or 160. Canelo had no incentive to fight them before, no money, no fans, not really viable TV wise because of the HBO/Showtime divide.

So to say Canelo ducked them is revisionist history, but that does not mean either brother would not be a serious fight for Canelo.

He did throw Jacobs under the bus, I can see Jacobs wanting to step to either one of them after this article.

Agree 100%. The reality is that Canelo has been brought along the right way. He's experienced opponents with different styles and strengths while taking risks and generating millions of dollars. Golden Boy has successfully made Canelo a multiple champion but the current PPV top dog and he's only 27 yrs old. You know Canelo is top dog and that's why Charlo has his name in his mouth. No boxer alive is scared to fight a Charlo but not scared of Golovkin.
