whats with the excuses. yeah it was a ****ed up stoppage but when ward started fouling kovalev should have fouled him back. hes not got the size for cruiserweight, no need to move up form light heavyweight. and if he trains himself why does he really need a new trainer.

A new trainer will do him no good it comes from inside and he will have a much more difficult time at a heavier weight Imo...

Exactly, hopefully we get some Kovalev supporter's on here big enough to apologize to Andre Ward and admit that they were wrong.

Go with Virgil, he will be str8 up with him and take him to that next level that he talking about.

Kovalev vs Lebedev or Kovalev against the winner of WBSS at the end of 2018 can be made in the Cruserweight division.

Maybe. It might just be too late for Sergei to change his spots even if he can learn to accept that he doesn't know it all. I think Kovalevs a great visceral fighter (which is his strength but also a barrier to progress) but I'm not 100% that he'll click with Virg on a cerebral level.

Either way I don't think 200 is a good move. He's saying almost exactly the same as all other LHWs when they get a reality check, but 9 times out of ten they come back down with a bump. Those that do make it are usually the 6'2" / 6' 3" guys that can carry the extra Lbs but I believe Sergei will be undersized at Cruiser. Also I believe his self belief has taken a major, possibly critical hit here. He's very much an ego driven guy and it remains to be seen if he can come to terms with the fact that he's fallible and how that will effect him.

He will be second to GGG but not same weight no competition needs to be second and learn from a GGG and if he was real and could handle it join Wards team but I don't see him being that humble

Apparently seeing lowblows isn't enough for some people...

Sounds like the old 190 cruiser limit woulda been perfect for kovalev...at 200 he might be a bit small. Better get on the peds.
