good to take a rest after tought fights like these... Ward is still young and just banked almost $10 million for 2 fights! Kovalev on the other hand is royally screwed! $0 official purse for that beating smh.....even don king never gave any of his fighters a $0 purse even if was giving them ppv points

No need for a 3rd fight, at least not anytime soon.

If Ward stays at 175, plenty of guys to fight in Beterbiev, Gvozdyk, Stevenson if he grows a pair and Joe Smith Jr.

Kovalev imo should move up to Cruiserweight and finish his career at Cruiser.

If Ward moves up to Cruiserweight, he can see about making a fight with Tony Bellew. Making the proposed boxing match of the movie Creed a reality. That would be a good money fight for Ward against Bellew. Danny Wheeler vs Pretty Ricky Conlan would actually come to life from the Creed movie.

I know Virgil and Ward were talking about Joshua and that they were serious, well Virgil said he was serious.

That's a death wish for Ward though.

But I agree, no 3rd fight. Kathy Duva said no 3rd fight if Kovalev would've won.
Tony weeks saved Kovalev from a possible serious injury. Not only was he dead tired, he was hurt to hell.

        Let it go.

But I really don't care at this point. Even if they made those fights, half the fighters would be a shell of themselves once the selective drug testing for only big fights got put into the contracts, and then the refs and the judges would **** up already underwhelming fights anyway. That's how it always works with modern boxing. 9/10 times the fights don't live up to ****, and the one time it's actually turning into something special, the ref will stop it early, or the judges will render the wrong decision, etc etc.

Happens every time. You can't even get a competent, non-corrupt card at the top level of boxing anymore. The only one I can really think of this entire decade is GGG-Jacobs card, but many thought Chocolatito was robbed on the undercard, and then Jacobs got to come in super heavy because of the IBF/early weigh in ****ery, causing GGG to be cautious all night so we didn't get the fight we were advertised even then. It was a solid chess match fight but it wasn't the Hagler-Hearns match we would have gotten had Jacobs and GGG been the same size, and GGG gone at Jacobs, and Jacobs had to either fight GGG off in a war or get run through.

So while these matchups are nice to think about, they usually never happen, and the few times they do, they're always ruined by then or ruined on the night anyway. So what's the point? I don't care who they fight anymore, the sport is broken regardless.
Why do you watch boxing then, if it's as bad as you say?

No wonder casuals don't bother watching, so-called boxing fans do nothing but bich and moan all the time.

Even if they were half serious about a fight at HW against somebody, it does seem Bellew at CW would be the next logical step before HW.

        I agree.

...And that's when he realized that he was not going to end Ward's career

tony weeks robbed us of seeing a brutal KO. that would've been the ultimate justice for that racist scumbag. i wish smoger was in there kovalev would've left the ring on a stretcher. he never recovered from the right hand. weeks should've just stood back and let the massacre continue. if theres anybody in boxing that deserves a merciless beating is kovalev. can you imagine the moment.. after saying he was gonna break ribs and end wards career he ends up motionless on his back.. damn fck you Tony Weeks.

now he's calling him son of referee when the ref actually saved his life.

no third fight. its clear that punk will never stop making excuses.

ward should go straight for stevenson for that undisputed title. kovalev can fight beterbiev, jack, barrera/smith winner.

krusher got krushed. the countdown begins now for JDJ to get fired and that whole team to fall apart.

It doesn't makes sense, but I would love the winner of Kov vs Stevenson to face Ward Next. I'm pretty sure Stevenson would dodge him, or out price himself.
