I can't think of a single fight at 175 for Ward that interests me. All of the contenders are young and unproven or Chickenson.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an extended layoff until someone emerges

If no adonis fight, he might try his luck with Parker if possible.

Good. No need for a rematch. WARd dominated both fights.

If boxing worked like a real sport, it would be Kovalev-Stevenson and Ward-Beterbiev fighting (or whatever), then the winners fighting.

But I really don't care at this point. Even if they made those fights, half the fighters would be a shell of themselves once the selective drug testing for only big fights got put into the contracts, and then the refs and the judges would **** up already underwhelming fights anyway. That's how it always works with modern boxing. 9/10 times the fights don't live up to ****, and the one time it's actually turning into something special, the ref will stop it early, or the judges will render the wrong decision, etc etc.

Happens every time. You can't even get a competent, non-corrupt card at the top level of boxing anymore. The only one I can really think of this entire decade is GGG-Jacobs card, but many thought Chocolatito was robbed on the undercard, and then Jacobs got to come in super heavy because of the IBF/early weigh in ****ery, causing GGG to be cautious all night so we didn't get the fight we were advertised even then. It was a solid chess match fight but it wasn't the Hagler-Hearns match we would have gotten had Jacobs and GGG been the same size, and GGG gone at Jacobs, and Jacobs had to either fight GGG off in a war or get run through.

So while these matchups are nice to think about, they usually never happen, and the few times they do, they're always ruined by then or ruined on the night anyway. So what's the point? I don't care who they fight anymore, the sport is broken regardless.

No, it would be Stevenson vs Ward next, to unify the division. Beterbiev is still pretty green let him fight Kovalev.
