The dude quit! Its obvious. Ward knew the body shots were bothering him. Once a guy turns away from you. You got him. He wanted out! The last round kovalev turned his head and body 3 times. Sign of a quitter.
I wish the ref would of let Kovalev get punished and have him say "no mas" LOL.
Ref gave him a way out. It was a early Christmas gift for Kovalev. He saved face and of course is going to complain about the "gift".

There's always controversy involved in Ward's fights. Given the personality he portrays outside the ring, one wouldn't expect him to be such a dirty fighter.

It's strange but as a Christian I've often thought the same things. I chalk it up to being a fighter and a smart one at that and having an unwavering sense of preservation. I can't say that I wouldn't do anything it took to win a fight either. I can't blame Ward as I don't think he intentionally tried to hit SK low but that's why refs are in there and why they are supposed to be sharp and unbiased enough to make the proper calls and I just don't think that happened tonight. It's sad too because Ward might have come out with a much better win over all had the fight continued.
