YOU claimed that karate/MA wont do **** in real life and that a trained boxer would do better etc.

Boxing = sport
Karate = real life

It all depends on the karate school's training methods.

In boxing, you spar. That's called "alive training". It teaches you what works and what doesn't, breaks bad habits, etc.

Too many karate schools refuse to spar. You get belts for showing up to class and doing forms.

If a boxer fights a karate guy who doesn't train "alive", my money is on the boxer every time.

If the karate guy trains "alive", then it's a toss up.

People **** on Bruce Lee endlessly these days because he was so hyped up, but I think what's obvious about Bruce was his exceptional will and athleticism. He had outstanding reflexes and strength for his size along with an intense desire to excel in whatever he pursued.

In a nutshell you summed it up. Anyone who has downplayed and dismissed Bruce in this thread know bruce was a great fighter but they get fed up with Lee being overhyped. Just like Floyd fans try downplay GGG as they think he is too hyped.?
Anyone who tries downplay Bruce and make out they don't think he was great, nobody believes they believe what they say anyway.

Ali considered Bruce Lee a great fighter . All Mma fighters know Bruce was a great fighter.

you must not know about bruce lee... he's pretty much the 1st one to cross train in other styles and incorporate them into his jkd system.

He's trained with highly regarded masters in judo, tae kwon do, of course his wang chun from man yip.


and also any karateka/martial artist from those days can tell you that there were dojo challenges all the time... behind closed doors and no cameras etc.
