    Comments Thread For: Spence's Next Fight Could Air on FOX From Dallas in September

    NEW YORK Errol Spence Jr. discussed the possibilities of fighting Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter and Lamont Peterson while waiting for fellow welterweight champion Keith Thurman to recuperate from elbow surgery. krikya360.com has learned that Spence is more likely to face a lesser opponent than Garcia, Porter or Peterson sometime in September in his first defense of the IBF welterweight title he won May 27 by stopping Kell Brook in the 11th round in Sheffield, England. Spence's first defense also is likely to be broadcast by FOX, on free TV, not Showtime, which televised the Spence-Brook bout.

        regardless of the network/opponent it would be smart to place his next fight in Dallas. I was shocked to find out that only 1 of his last 10 fights (3 year span) has been in Texas. And only 4 of his 22 pro fights have been in the state of Texas with ONLY 1 of those being in Dallas. That's crazy he should be fighting in Dallas which is one of biggest markets in the country. Instead Haymon has had him literally fighting in NY, Canada and everywhere but Texas.

          The ibf act like *****es when it comes to mandatories he doesn't want to have to fight a house painter when Thurman Is finally cleared so he should try get that out the way asap.

            Nice. I was legit worried PBC was gonna sit on Spence til November or later the way the activity has been with the top guys these days.

            I'm rooting on Shawn Porter being the guy. I think that's the best guy available & that would bump his Q score the most.

            Garcia wouldn't be bad either & is probably the easier fight with almost as much upside & maybe arguably more upside then Porter.

            I'd have lil desire to see Peterson vs Spence as I think that's a good name obviously, but it seems a level or two below Garcia & Porter & isn't really gonna bounce his popularity much I don't believe. It would be a easy-ish fight doe so if a easy-ish first defense with a good name is what they are looking for with this hometown venue then Peterson is the guy.

            Also wtf looking at those rankings. That's a complete sh^t show of a top 15 rankings with all the high quality guys at 147.

              Smart move by pbc..... Collazo knocked out sammy vasquez jr cold and if he beats alexander next he can get the spence fight im sure..... Kristine leahys fine ass better be on the fox broadcast....

                porters scared daddy has said multiple times they have no interest in spence.... Porter and his daddy start stuttering when spence is mentioned.... Collazo knocked out sammy vasquez and if he beats alexanders next look for collazo to get the fight..... Berto, porter and danny would never dare step in the ring with spence....

                  where does jo jo diaz fight? Where does lucas fight? They are all still not as known as spence.... Haymon has put spence infront of millions of people on primetime tv multiple times dummy..... Your mami could never do that for her fighters..... No one watches bum ass espn2....

                    I'll be there in person if it's in Dallas, and all indications are it's going to be.

                    I grew up in the same Dallas suburb as Errol (DeSoto). Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually a trailer park trash motherf**ker with a mullet who lives in Shelby, North Carolina.
