so why was it a bad stoppage?

was Chudinov fighting back? Was he grabbing Groves? Was he trying to move away? He had his hands up but Groves crosses were going behind the guard and landing on the side of his head.

Well what are you suggesting? We stop Groves, Kovalev & Mike Perez fights just a lil bit sooner cuz they injured or killed a guy previously?

A early stoppage is a early stoppage in my eyes. Doesn't matter who's on either side of it. I don't think refs should be considering past things like that in their current job. I think on the lower levels of the sport what the ref woulda been a perfectly fine stoppage. But at this level of the sport the guys know & understand the risks & you should give guys as much opportunity to win as you possibly can.

And come on bro I'm not even taking some super aggressive stance on this. I fairly casually said it was a early stoppage cuz it WAS an early stoppage, but ultimately I said I understand cuz refs got a sh^t job in this regard & my speculation is Groves probably still wins the fight within 30 seconds or a couple rounds later if the ref let it go on.

        Well no sh^t.

That's why I said I ultimately didn't have a problem with it. Its still an early stoppage doe. This ain't that complicated.

And I usually agree with the if a guy doesn't protest that means it wasn't horrible, but I don't believe that in a vacuum. I think some cats protest to make themselves look better sometimes despite being ok with the stoppage & I think some cats just accept that despite believing themselves able & certainly willing to continue they don't see the point in protesting cuz whats done is done.

I think Fedor could be the latter type in the Groves fight. He seems like a cat who's perfectly ok with going down swinging to me more often then not.

Rules are the rules doe & the ref can call it & I ultimately think Groves was gonna win regardless anyway so its probably much ado about nothing even if it was an early stoppage. Personally at that level I like see guys given more leeway to continue doe.

And to the TS, respect to Groves for toughing through the rest of the fight with a jacked up jaw.
You can debate if it's early or not but it definitely wasn't a horrible stoppage. I was ok with it mainly because of fedors reaction and to me he looked like he was hurt bad. Taking into consideration groves last fight I'm quite happy to see it stopped when it was.

I think some guys react different when they're hurt not everyone looks dazed but I remember thinking he looked very heavy legged and could barely get his hands up. He's a tough son of a ***** though maybe too tough for his own good.

That's pretty much what I said initially before MDPop acted like I was trying to get Fedor killed with my casual comment lol.

I usually go along with this line of thinking as mentioned early too. I do think it is often wrong, although its probably right more often.

I think protesting is a thing now. So there is more meta sh^t going on with it. So some guys who wanna look better/tougher will argue with the ref & protest so it looks like they wanted it to go on while they are thanking their lucky stars the ref jumped in. You see that ALL THE TIME with journeymen caliber guys & "opponents" & sometimes even with higher up guys.

And I also think there are guys who understand that once the ref calls it he can't uncall it (well usually anyway lol, this is boxing *said in GGG voice*) so complaining about it regardless if you disagree with it changes nothing & is a waste of time & energy. So its just for show to protest & a lot of cats aren't trying to do anything for show. Or there show just might be a quick angry look or insulting word that would be easily missed by people viewing the fight on TV or live.

I think some guys react different when they're hurt not everyone looks dazed but I remember thinking he looked very heavy legged and could barely get his hands up. He's a tough son of a ***** though maybe too tough for his own good.
True. He for sure wasn't in good shape & like I said earlier too I think if the ref hadn't stopped it a lil too early I think Fedor is most likely done within 30 seconds or so or a couple rounds later absolute best case. So ultimately the call probably worked out for him best long term career-wise.

I still think ideally the ref lets that go on some more time at this level of the sport, but the problem is we don't live in ideally so its an early stoppage yet not a bad one.

I think George Groves beats Chris Eubank Junior, and also James Degale! With age his body seems to have toughened up, he withstood some serious bombardment in his world title fight! and was still able to stay coherent, and unleash his own rockets! I think he beats Degale, because technically he just can't punch! The only time James Degale can hurt a fighter, is when they don't see the punching coming! (That is the only time!)......Literally when they have zero idea a punching has been thrown or landed!

And if Chris Eubank Junior's body fail's to finish going through puberty properly, and he does not start to generate some real man strength? At elite level he is going to find himself in some serious trouble! Eubank Junior has no real weakness accept that his punching power is underdeveloped.

His father needs to pay attention to this area of his game, and implement something within his training. Chop afew trees down (This is critical they need to find a way), i find it bizarre the way his punches delivered with great technique don't hurt guys (And he is a great athlete so he should be generating power!)

Chris Eubank Senior is a smart man, i am sure right now as we speak he is devising a plan in how to improve his sons power.

Didn't think it was a bad stoppage, just about right.

And Chudinov is the tough kind of mofo who just won't go down without a vicious knockout, he was getting smashed with lots of bombs around his guard causing his his hands to uncontrollably wilt down by his sides but his legs were somehow keeping him standing.
