Going into the Trout fight everyone expected a forward robotic Canelo. Instead they got Canelo the boxer who moved effectively and made Trout miss all night. It was such a shock to see, that Trouts corner had no plan b.

The commenters were horrible. Canelo clearly was in charge of the fight but they barely acknowledged any punches Angulo landed.

He landed more total punches because he threw a lot more, but landed at a very low percentage. Well low considering Canelo was suppose to be easy to hit.

If I recall Canelo doubled the % in power punches.

Big difference between flat footed, and cement feet. Floyd still moved well.

Canelo's problem is that he needs to have his feet planted to throw his shots, he can't throw on the move at all. He can't use his feet to change his range up in the middle of a combination if the other guy changes range on him. He is never going to step around a guy in the middle of a combination. He can't slide with guys.



Pretty clearly demonstrated in his fight with Khan, you notice how Canelo is always reaching with shots when Khan is moving? Its because Canelo plants his feet and throws. Compare it to the way Khan bring his feet with him when he throws punches.

These are the the things that make Canelo cement footed.

You guys are forgetting GGGs jab which is probably the best in the sport right now. Especially with him being the taller fighter his outstanding jab will allow him to do good work and offset Canelos offense.

Also Oscar has stated the GGG can't fight going backwards so Canelo might try to push him back but I don't think he has the style to pull that off effectively.

Yes. I think the jab will be the key to the whole fight. GGG will bust him up over the course of the fight and pound that body as well.
