But if he fights him at a catchweight the way Canelo is against Chavez, does he still get the same credit for fighting him?

Canelo, Jacobs rematch, then Ramirez! In the meantime Ramirez can fight Bursak and Hart, and maybe David Benavidez. Looking forward to Benavidez vs. "Porky" Medina on 5/20!

do not talk rubbish the guy has not even had a first defence in a year why even talk about GGG. Fighters just put names out to make them look revelant

He'll get credit, but it will bring attention back to "anyone from 154-158," and "Ward only at 164," etc. Probably not a good look!

              This.

LOL I'm glad you got the first post with this response cuz its the 100% correct take on this situation if you know the tactics Arum uses.

Arum has been doing this, very successfully, for years. Its simple & kinda silly, but seems to work extremely well at 1)highlighting that his guy is fighting soon to sell some more tickets/PPV's + 2)piggybacking his fighters name with a top guys name which makes his guy look all the better for guys who know nothing or lil about his guy making them want to show up or buy the fight more. Its brilliant & one of the reasons Arum is one of the best promoters in the game still today despite being 113 years old.

What has Ramirez done and who has he beat to think he could come out victorious over GGG? Seriously he beat up and old Abraham hasn't fought any of the elites in his division.

All Arum and Ramirez seem to do is take shots at Canelo and GGG. Put Ramirez in versus some real threats then call out the big dogs.

Who has GGG beaten that would tell you differently??? Jacobs was the only "Real Threat" ggg has fought. Moving up would clearly favor Ramirez.

Arum knows what K2 are doing with Golovkin

he knows that fight will never happen

Ramirez will fight a Top Rank guy
