Comments Thread For: Arum Very Interested, Prepared To Make Ramirez vs. Golovkin Next

After winning the WBO super middleweight title last April against Arthur Abraham, Gilberto Ramirez (34-0, 24 KOs) finally makes the first defense of that belt this Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California versus Max Bursak. He was initially scheduled to make his first defense last July as part of the Terence Crawford vs. Viktor Postol pay-per-view, but a hand injury suffered in the summer scuttled the rest of his 2016.

This fight ONLY happens at 160. I'm not believing in that GGG 154-168 crap anymore. It's a MYTH. I would have a better chance of seeing Big Foot or the LochNess Monster before GGG moves up.

"I talked to Loeffler as recently as last week, he was in (Washington) D.C. (for the April 8th card at the MGM National Harbor). He obviously is looking at a Canelo (Saul Alvarez) fight which he realizes may never happen.
But GGG fans keep telling me the fight with Canelo is happening in Sept and that's why Loeffler and GGG skipped the BJS fight. ,

Ramirez is still green as hell, Arum once again talking out the side of his azz. GEE easily handles "Zurdo".

Chavez Jr. Beats Ramirez aswell... That's the fight Jr. Should have looked for IMO.

I anyway can`t understand why Golden Boy should be interested in the Canelo vs GGG fight. Golovkin is not a big PPP draw and the fight is dangerous for Canelo. Golovkin and his handlers need Canelo but not vice versa.....

AS much as i would like this fight to happen...it wont. Ramirez still a little untested. needs 3 more fights and then GGG would need to go to 168. Doubt he has any intentions to go up in weight right now.

So which is it? GGG is a bum, or Ramirez is green and needs more fights? Lot excuses being tossed about by haters and doubters. It wasn't long ago I saw a lot of the haters calling for GGG to step up and right Ramirez, now suddenly he's too green, it's too soon.

I'm a big GGG fan but I think Zurdo wins this one. Stylistically he can fight very similar to Jacobs but he's a bit taller.

Neither. Ramirez can't make 160 and GGG won't go up to 168. This is a mythical matchup...
