Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: There Was No Robbery; It Was A Close Fight That I Won!

NEW YORK Andre Ward won't argue with you if you tell him his fight against Sergey Kovalev was close. Even if you tell Ward you think he lost by a point or two, the unbeaten IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion will respect your opinion and agree to disagree. You start talking "robbery," and that's when Ward will take issue with what you're saying about his controversial victory over Kovalev on November 19 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

EVERY CLOSE FIGHT IS A ROBBERY to some people, especially if their guy lost. Those fans say he was scared b4 the fight was signed. So they gotta stick to their story OR admit they were wrong. What does most humans do? Try to make their story right, no matter the evidence. Ward got up (if he was scared, he could've just stayed down, but he got up an went at Kov. His trainer, HE, and every objective fan saw that he got tired and Ward came back to win a close fight. (remember these same people thought Pac won vs TBE, these same people thought Pac tripped over JMM's foot, and that salt-water heals "severely" torn rotator cuffs). Why has Kov changed up his whole camp if he thought he won?

We know, we know...Truthfully after the knockdown, the air was taken out of the fight. Ward gave us a stellar 9th round but generally it was anticlimactic. Both fighters were ineffective for most of the fight. And the fight was generally a dud.

Usually the champ would survive a fight like that but in this case that didn't happen.

It wasn't a robbery but I really hope we get a conclusive result this time. I'd rather Ward gets KO'd or Kovalev gets dominated than endure all the whining that goes on in these threads.

Like Floyd say call a spade a spade. He didn't win. What's Ward suppose to say? "I loss"

It was funny when Ward was trying to showboat and Kovalev hard Jabbed him right in the face lol

Ward came on late yes but it was to little too late on my cards...

Kovalev has said a few things this week that shows doubt. I really hope we get a good fight this time though. Most objective people were looking for a little more from the first encounter. Once Ward got up he definitely imposed his will on the fight, but idk if we can say he won convincingly. Looking for a decisive result either way this time.
