Comments Thread For: Crawford: I Don't Even Think About Fighting Pacquiao Now

NEW YORK Their promoter says it's possible for Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford to finally fight in November. Crawford won't even allow himself to think about it. The much-discussed fight against the Filipino icon hasn't come close to happening, thus Crawford won't pay it much mind until he hears otherwise from Bob Arum or his co-managers, Cameron Dunkin and Brian McIntyre.

November would be dope!!! Not holding my breathe though. Pac has earned the right to fight whoever he wants BUT this horn fight needs to be on regular tv

Pacquiao won't fight him, he'd rather fight Jeff Horn.

But he's earned the right to fight mediocre foes and sell that to the public, I guess.

Pac should just retire. He has nothing left to prove. Fighting meaningless fights that no one cares about is not the way to go.

Old school warrior mentality. Make your own name by travelling to other countries to win titles, becoming lineal champion in multiple divisions and unifying titles. He's on the right track.

I think Crawford has the right perspective about a fight with Manny. Hopefully, after the Diaz fight (if he wins, which IMO he will) maybe he moves to WW officially, although the wbo rules allow Crawford to fight for the wbo ww title immediately as the wbo jww champion.

Really hope these 2 fight this year. WOuld be much better than a khan fight IMO.

that's right he has earned the right to fight anyone he wants. However Crawford has not earned the right to fight the John Molina's and the something or other Diaz's of this world smh. Quit fighting bums and people will take notice people forget how much Manny has done in his career.

I don't know if I agree with the thought that Manny has "earned the right to fight whomever he wants". And I'm saying this as a Pacquiao fan.

I mean if you lower your purse demands to what your current demand now is, which is a fraction of what it once was, so you can now fight on regular subsciption HBO...then fine. Whatever. Fight Horn or Brian Sutherland Jr. for all I care.

But when you're still putting this trash on PPV, then no, you shouldn't be fighting whomever you want because "you earned it". If you cared about your fans at all that is.

Look...he's 38, and he's about to take part in his 68th fight. I get that you don't have to go out and fight in their prime killers just for us, not at this point of your career, but a guy that the vast majority of the boxing public has never even heard of? Isn't there a middle ground somewhere?

Although I appreciate the respect that Bud gives Pacman for his amazing career, I don't like the idea of "having the right to face who you want to face." I'm not saying that Pac hasn't earned it or whatever, but he is a top 10 P4P fighter on many people's list. He holds a belt at 147. I don't really care about what you did 5-10 years ago. If you are on those lists, I don't want to see you fighting Jeff Horn, especially when you're only fighting 1 or 2 times a year. With being a top 10 fighter, where is the sense of responsibility to take on challenges?

Bud has the right idea though. Keep active and fight meaningful challenges. Don't stunt your career hoping for a Pac fight. If it happens, good for Bud. If it doesn't, he still has a career of his own to make. I'm glad he made the Diaz fight. The guy ducks no one.
