Comments Thread For: Arum: Broner, Crawford More Credible Than Khan For Pacquiao

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum says Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) is not ahead of the pack when it comes to being a fall opponent for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38 KOs). Arum views four division champion Adrien Broner and WBC/WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford as being far more viable opponents to fight Pacquiao in November on pay-per-view.

Broner and Crawford are a more Credible fight for my Pet Pacquiao but I won't put him the ring with those guys. I want a rematch with Chris Algeri or a no name like Jeff Horn for my little pet.. -Arum

Seeing how they are coming off of wins, yes, they would be more credible. But, Broner has turned down $4M to fight him and knows he will get humiliated. Crawford may not be able to pull in enough interest in order to pay what both Pac and Bud would want in salary. He just isn't a household name right now. Khan, is the guy who can help earn the paychecks each of them want for the fight, bringing in a big fan base from the UK and Middle East.

Looking at the three of them, the most entertaining fight is Khan. Broner will get smashed, and Crawford will run and pot-shot. Had Crawford shown some balls against Postol and closed the show like a champ, he might have had his shot at Pac. He may still have a shot as Khan is being talked about for November. No dance partner yet for April/May, hopefully it won't be Horn.

Khan and credible don't belong in the same sentence. Knocking khan out wouldn't generate a buzz for anyone especially someone as accomplished as pac.

Khan just wants cash out retirement money.Who has Khan ever really beaten apart from a at the time a green Maidana. If Khan would only fight someone worthy at welterweight then people wouldn't hate him like they do win or lose.Crawford would be the acid test and I would go with him to beat this slower and older version of Pac and Broner would be good but I feel he would be out worked as he spends alot of time admiring his own work. But at least he ends the fight on his feet!

Mikey Garcia @ 140, would be the ultimate farewell fight! I would rather see that than Pacquiao vs. Crawford! Before the Granados fight, Broner was credible. After the Granados fight, not so much! In order of "blockbuster" potential for Pacquiao: Mikey Garcia @ 140, Keith Thurman @ 147, Lomachenko @ 140, and Terence Crawford @ 147.

Of course he is all talk. I think everyone would Love to see Pac against this guys. Am glad Arum hand has been forced. It's obvious he had something against Khan, he said the same thing before Canelo fought Khan, Pac wanted to fight Khan before that time too but Arum wasn't having it, sad thing is dumb posters actually believed Arum when he said HBO didn't approve of the fight then!!! Lol
