Miracle man without a punches chance...

    Needs an actual miracle.

Short post prefaced by the fact that I like and am rooting for Jacobs.

Golovkin has tasted and was virtually unaffected by David Lemieux's power. He obviously has exceptional power, far superior to Danny's( rewatch the Sergio mora fight if you disagree). He can't stop him and is unlikely to hurt ggg.

He could theoretically win using a Floyd Canelo template. But as the defensive skill and speed advantage Floyd had over canelo were much greater to what danny has, he will not be able to pot shot and score(or dance/run and score). Even if he uses this only theoretical strategy for victory, he will eventually get caught and hurt and the fight will turn at that moment. Golovkin's jab erases any possibility the strategy could work, no matter how flawlessly danny is able to box. Golovkin Ko in rounds 4-7...

I agree that Jacobs power is overrated and that Lemieux's power is vastly superior. Jacobs 12 fight KO streak is a bit manufactured given he was matched against no hopers when he was on the comeback trail. Then he fought Mora and got a TKO due to injury. He gets props for wobbling Quillin in round 1 but Kid Chocolate never even went down and the ref jumped in and stopped it. I have no doubt Peter could have weathered that storm had the ref allowed him to. Then Jacobs gets a stoppage against Mora in a rematch. That stoppage was legit but Mora is past it at this point. DJ has power for sure but he doesn't crack like Lemieux. He also might not take the shots as well given the Pirog KO loss and the early KD Mora scored in the first fight. He absolutely has to be the boxer in this fight and hope his hand speed advantage can keep GGG at bay. He will have to weather some rough patches. If GGG gets overagressive early though DJ might be able to land a punch that shocks Triple G. We have never seen Golovkin hurt and the chin is solid. He still has to watch it because DJ is good enough to line up a shot right on the button if given the opportunity. Still, hard to imagine it actually happen. We know DJ can punch but lets face it we would all be shocked if he actually hurt Gennady in there. I expect him to be game and have moments but get KO'd inside 8 rounds.

I'm picking Golovkin to win in the fashion most are. I think it's a "just a matter of time" scenario. But I think we're underestimating Jacobs ability to hurt Golovkin. Jacobs will have a height and reach advantage as Lemieux did not. Jacobs is also a better boxer. Lemieux has more power, sure, but I think Jacobs can be more clever with angles and setting shots up. And Jacobs can seriously crack also. I think Danny has to catch him and stun him early to have a shot.

Again, I don't give Jacobs much of a chance of winning. I mainly am hoping for him to make it interesting, but it's perfectly reasonable to think he can hurt GGG.

jacobs can definitely hurt GGG, he has the power. but GGG is a better boxer overall and his defense should be enough to handle jacobs attack

I think GGG will be effective with his jab sort of like LeMule

I want Golovkin to win but don't be surprised if Jacobs hurts him. Jacobs can crack with the best of them. These are both humans beings, not super beings. Everyone's chin can be cracked, especially if they're hit by a known puncher. This is a dangerous fight for both guys.

Most people fail to realise this about golovkin...he always comes out ready to box..but he is not one dimensional...as shown in the kell brook fight...and yes i know kell was a blown up welter/light middle...he came out to box...but when he realised that was the harder way to go about it...he just switched to streetfight and smashed his way in. There is likely no way out when it comes to golovkin..he will beat you slowly if he can....or he will hurt you if he has to...it only usually takes him about 3 rounds to decide which it is going to be and everybody watching knows when the decision has been made.
