All of Floyd's biggest wins were against fighters who were past their prime...De La Hoya, Pac, Cotto, Hernandez, Mosley...
He got gift decisions versus Castillo, De La Hoya, Maidana.
He sucker punched Ortiz, got caught with an illegal IV, and once upon a time he was injecting illegal substances into his hands.
He ducked many a tough fight: Stevie Johnston, prime Mosley, Casamayor, Freitas, Paul Williams, Margarito, Sergio Martinez, prime Pac, rematch with De La Hoya, Winky Wright, and closed his career versus Berto...not Thurman, Garcia, Porter, etc.
Floyd's entire career has been smoke and mirrors, flash before substance. His biggest win was against Corrales.
While Marciano may have defeated champions beyond their prime, he wasn't a big HW at 185. Ezzard Charles still had a lot left in the tank when they fought, and had he not killed a man in the ring prior, he may have had the heart to finish Marciano in their first fight. But he lost his killer instinct. At least he was a class act and never trash talked opponents, beat up women, or cheated to win.
Gonna ask you the same question that ADP02 ducked. How did Mayweather duck prime Pac when he offered 50/50, 14 day cut-off for drug testing, and even Freddy Roach said the reason the first negotiation failed was because of Pac's side.
Floyd's resume is definitely better than Marciano's, but he's completely wrong about the Rock.
First of all, it should be noted that Marciano would have likely been a MW with today's weight-cutting techniques.
The guy stood not a hair above 5'9'', with a sub-70" reach.
He came into the ring at around 185 pounds. He probably walked around not much higher than this. Some guys who fight at MW right now, walk around 188ish or more if they've been out of the gym for a while.
What he accomplished was nothing short of amazing.
His natural power... Jesus... Just ferocious.
No you are wrong his non training weight was over 200 pounds. He literally ate a soup and salad diet to make 185ish. He had a few amateur fights where he weighed closer to 200 pounds eating more and he at one time incorporated weightlifting into his training too.
Today he would be a short cruiserweight who probably would be stuck in the division but would jump to heavyweight for a cash out payday.

Floyd has had an amazing career. I think his greatest asset is his ring intelligence. Add that to his skill and it's an unbeatable combination. Still, discrediting Marciano and his undefeated stellar record is unprofessional and represents an insecure egotistical component of Floyd's personality. Floyd just can't be humble, it's not in his nature.
12 guys who won lineal titles....he also won lineals titles at 130, 135, 147(2x) and 54
in 49 fights that's very impressive considering guys like Chavez and Duran fought 100+ arguello had near 100
no matter how you try to flip it dip it the man fought high level opposition consistently
Nope just being clear about how many lineal titles he actually fought and won. The way you phrased it made it seem like he was a 12 time lineal title winner.

you knew what i meant
stop trying so hard to disagree or play devil's advocate
anybody with a brain knows the man fought better oppositiont than rocky and a lot of other great fighters.
people are just too emotional when it comes to the guy. You dont fight in all those championship fights and fight scrubs.
