A guy I know that played softball ruptured his in a game. 9 months in a cast from his foot up to mid thigh. Don't even know how long rehab took.

I said it was one of the most courageous things I'd ever seen in a ring and these pics prove it.

And yeah, this is quite different from Manny's shoulder.

Its a rather long recovery. Non weight bearing in equinus position (foot flexed) and then after about 4-6 weeks gradually bring it up to neutral and then physical therapy, strengthening, range of motion etc etc. In Haye's case and at his level of physical activity in boxing it will take some time before he can compete given the demands he puts on that leg/ankle.

In the aftermath of this fight, David Haye is doing a immense job at self promoting himself! from giving respect to Toney Bellew, from not making excuses but? still letting everybody know that he was injured. Toney Bellew seems to be saying the wrong things, since the fall-out of the fight....

I disagreed with his statements that..."If David Haye would of beaten me, he would not of shown me respect!".....during his match up against Derek Chisora! David Haye was the first fighter to give Chisora respect! (And that fight was more dangerous for Haye inside and outside of the ring! you don't mess around with these African's)...

This may be all promotion, who knows? because i am sure Eddie Hearn speaks to Bellew, and makes him aware of how the things he can say? can effect self promotion.

I still believe that Haye can make a speedy recovery, and fight once again this year! (Sometimes rehab can actually make your body parts stronger!)...

Basically thats like be hobbled....hobbled is when you cut your achilles tendon and you have no control over your foot....incredible how he managed to stay on his feet for that long after it happened.....must have been agony and he deserves a rematch imo

My friend had a partial tear to his achilles tendon a long time ago...also while boxing. Today many years later it's obvious something is wrong when you see him walk. You never really completely recover from that type of injury...Haye will never be the same.

He done an interview with Sky Sports News HQ after the fight. While watching the replay of round 6 when his achilles went, he said it felt like he stepped in a bear trap and he completely lost control of his right foot and lower leg.
