Comments Thread For: Frank Warren on Bad British Scoring, Khurtsidze vs. Langford

The 114-114 tally submitted by British judge Ian John Lewis following the WBC world title contest between Rey Vargas and Doncaster's Gavin McDonnell in Hull last weekend does the game over here no favours at all. Admirably, McDonnell and his team took no comfort from being scored all square on Lewis' card, quickly stating that it was wrong and he clearly lost the fight.

British scoring is just as bad as Germany so I think Warren is behind times.

It's far worse, notably and evidently.

A draw would have seen him retain his belt, it's easy to tell whom Hearn and Warren are paying off, these officials they're using are by far the shadiest in the gloval scene. Who was the one Warren had carrying Clverly back to his corner versus Klincher Kovalev ?

Two Americans claiming Brit scorecards are the worse. We've just had the usual bad scoring in the Garcia/Thurman fight, scorecards that do in fact happen it seems, in every fight now. Either that or a straight up robbery.

Lewis' score card isn't the usual in British fights. It happens once every blue moon.

But I agree with Warren, score cards like that have no place in boxing.

The fall out from that scorecard has been reassuring.

We need judging to be pretty perfect over here because we have the money, we have a lot of decent fighters, and we have the interest in boxing amongst casuals. We do not need silly decisions basically because if our fighters lose it doesn't matter that much as there are plenty of tv dates to go around. What matters is attracting the best fighters to fight out here in big UK events.

That draw card was a complete farce. It deserved to be highlighted and everyone from Hearn, to Warren, to Gavin McDonnell himself mentioned it.

The next evolution of British boxing would be to have two foreign fighters headlining an event here. I don't know if that is possible but that would be great for boxing generally.

You are right. I was just trying to be polite. Too much home cooking in the UK. The fighters, promoters and judges really think a UK fighter should get preferential treatment. Winning without knocking out a UK fighter in the UK is really hard.

Very true. If we want to get big names from the US or wherever to fight in the UK, we need to show them they are going to be treated fairly over here.

A case for six Garcia rounds can be made, the 2, 4, 6, 10, 11 and 12 I didn't believe Garcia won not draw but I can see evidence for six rounds to support his case though I don't feel he did enough regardless I can see where the judge who scored for Garcia got 6 of the 7 rounds from. We've seen judges go with who closes rounds out, who dominates from start to finish, even judges just scoring on activity alone which I don't agree on the least with.

I actually felt that Jack beat Degale and the Americans gave Degale a draw, Santa Cruz a wider winner than the judges credited for recently.

Like where the funk did Quigg the Hearn fighter get all those rounds from on the card he won against Frampton ? Hearn and Warren are shady as fück, Oscar most certainly is and I don't believe Haymon is at all, he just gets his men another title shot and enough if need be, he's certainly connected but I don't think he goes with paying them like you know full well Oscar, Eddie and Frwank do.

Like has been said of the Sauerland's and K2 its bs, I've seen closer cards than warranted which leads me to suspect the opposite regarding them, Oner I'm sure is dirty as was Waldemar Kluch, who obviously is as corrupt shady and as dangerous as Don King, hopefully Kluch finds his way to Ramzan Kadyrov's basement and is served his dues.

Look at you trying to justify that Garcia card. That judge was just as bad as Ian John Lewis.

And if corruption is happening in the UK as much as you say it does (it doesn't) then you'd have no problem with pointing it all out to me.

Talking of American corruption and being incompetent, the Italian and American judge at the weekend had it for Malignaggi, a fight in which he was pretty much dominated in. So there's some more of that bull****.
