i think danny. he's much more effective as a counter-puncher, and not very good when he has to chase a guy down (which is why thurman employed that strategy).

against porter, danny can do what he does best. i think he's sharp enough and hits hard enough to possibly hurt porter.

Garcia does not belong at 147, basic and too small.

Basic and too small? Where you get that from? The man is actually bigger than Thurman and there's nothing basic about him. He just is not on Thurman's level.

The way Thurman came out attacking in the first round, I was like, this is going to be a brawl. It played right into Garcia's stationary style. But, just as quickly, it settled down into a tactical fight, with Thurman landing the right hand at will, and Garcia with sporadic moments.

It was not smart of Thurman to take most of the 11th and 12th off. He's in Garcia's second, adopted home, and he could have been dealing with judges who don't favor back pedaling. One didnt. He's lucky the other two did.

I dunno...Thurman...look, I understand that he loved his original coach, and misses him dearly. But its well past time to put that behind you. Birmingham is your coach now...Birmingham led you to this title shot. Birmingham trained you for this fight. At the post fight, Thurman goes "to my ORIGINAL coach...", with Birmingham, the man that just coached your Welterweight unifying win standing right there...it just looked very disrespectful. I guess Birmingham's alright with it?

As far as Danny...he might cherry pick from here on out. He may decide to take a huge risk to immediately get back in the mix, such as Khan II or Spence.

                He's very basic.

He had size and power to bail him out at 140 (and gift decisions), at 147 he loses those bail outs.

Garcia could still get to 140, Thurman can't. Thurman, and basically everyone else in the division, are bigger and better than him.

Danny didn't have to chase Thurman.

Danny has excellent boxing fundamentals. If he was just basic, he wouldn't have made it through 140 like he did. Danny is 5'8.5 with a bigger frame than Thurman who is 5'7.5. Mayweather was only 5'8". Look at Pac, Bradley. and Porter. Danny is not too small and I highly doubt that he can make 140 again and be effective. Thurman is not bigger but he is better.

He has solid counter punching fundamentals, he is basic otherwise. When he is forced to move forward and actually lead, he looks unsure and is loose defensively.

He didn't make it through 140, he clearly lost to Herrera and got a gift decision, and he was fortunate against Peterson. The guys at 147 are going to roll through him.
