I didn't believe Santa Cruz.
I'm definitely a fan. I was a fan of Leo's when I saw Frampton taking the first one, and I was a fan still when I predicted him to win again.
I didn't believe Santa Cruz when he said he fought the first fight for the fans, and was now proclaiming that this fight would be for him, and the victory.
I didn't think he would do much of anything different, perhaps be more selective early until full scale war ignited.
But I thoroughly enjoyed being set straight as a result of this man's performance. He fought a great fight! I'd give him an 'A', for not only for the things he did in the ring, but also for the things he didn't do. This was a beautiful display of having a perfect game plan and sticking to it. What, did one judge have it even? I saw a clear LSC win, and have more respect for his skills now.

Several times throwing questions to a name instead of any coworker in general, then interrupting their answer with some, "aawoa" sound effect before they could finish. Very weak performance. Lamest performance was calling Jesus Soto Karass 'battle tested' about 500 times one night.
Also, Showtimes just puts on better, more interesting fights and match ups.

Leo fought well and deserved the win over Frampton
Leo fought a very smart fight and listened to his corner and won a his belts back. the third fight will be a doozy but Leo has the edge because of speed and size. Now if the fight is in Belfast every is off and Framp wins.

Really good fight. Great performance from Leo. Backed up his talk about being able to box and trading by choice 100%. Carl was obviously uncomfortable with having to lead but he rose to the challenge in a way that many counterpunchers don't.
I found it very hard to score. Several basically even rounds. In the end I would say that Leo was the clear winner in more rounds than Carl, and he deserved the decision on that basis.
Looking forward to the rubber match. I don't think these guys are on the Barrera-Morales level but they are world class all the same. And two class acts as well. Great post-fight interviews from both. Refreshing.

With the right guy in the corner, Frampton could've taken that fight. Shane wasn't up to it tonight
I thought that was a very dumb move. Carl went away from what he had been doing and the momentum swung right back to Santa Cruz. I can understand Shane wanting to motivate his fighter, but don't tell him to do something different when he has finally found a way to win rounds clearly! I think Carl lost his way after that. Maybe Leo would have closed the show anyway, but bad advice is bad advice.
