Not FOTY quality but that happens in the 2nd fight of a trilogy quite often.Ali/Frazier Gatti/Ward..Looking forward to the final chapter

I could easily see a draw. It definitely lacked the drama and intense action of the first fight. The first three rounds were either way, due to low action. The third fight will hopefully be better than this.

Santa Cruz won the fight but it wasn't exciting at all. Pretty boring fight, let's hope that both fighters go their different ways and fight new blood at 126 and somewhere down the line fight a rubbermatch later in their careers.

        Santa Cruz vs Russell
        Frampton vs Selby

I hope there is no 3rd fight.

This was such a bad action fight.

Ive never seen a fight where there are thousands of punches being thrown where both fighters land in the low 20% range...

Their first fight was good. This one was sloppy and rather boring low level offense, high level defense fight.

          They both ran from Rigo.

Rigo could have fought them both at the same time tonight and won.

But tonight he showed inexperience at this level.
their is no excuses from framptons end which is always a plus, but when put under pressure it was shane who lost his cool, its not even that he lost his cool but didnt know how to direct frampton and get him fired up,
it was almost like he was saying he was doing a great job during rounds he lost and to take it easy during the rounds he won............

after the fight, agreeing with frampton that leo won was all good in nature, but he should of been their to direct his fighter at the same time....
not hating on shane, but i think he lost his cool a bit under the pressure of such a big fight.

o and by the way, its no excuse big enough to warrent a win for frampton, beore some fcking donkey says stop trying to blame it on the trainer
Good points. After one of the later rounds (9? 10?) Frampton looked a bit unmotivated going back to the corner and I remember Shane's response to the situation just being NOT what was needed at all. I can't remember what Shane said exactly but it was just a bit flat and not motivational enough for my liking: at that particular moment Carl needed a morale-booster... a slap round the face, I don't know what... but he needed something and it seemed like the team were out of their depth. Preparation and experience both played their part tonight.

And I agree with you, it's not like Shane lost it for Frampton. It's more like Cruz turned up focussed, with a great game-plan and a motivating corner. I hope you're right that Shane can learn from this, and improve - I just worry that he thinks he's made it already. Shane has talked about how he'll quit when he no longer enjoys it, that's the not the kind of talk I like to hear from a trainer

Both my mexican fighters won tonight, good enough for me...the Santa Cruz win goes out to all the dumb mafakas who said Leo was a one dimensional fighter who didn't know how to jab and move..eat it

Good adjustments by Santa Cruz to get the win.

I don't agree with the decision, it should have been a unanimous decision, Santa Cruz out boxed and out fought Frampton and even though some rounds were close, Santa Cruz won most of them.
To me this fight wasn't so close at all.

Close, but still he won each round. I thought that the scores were not fair to Leo. Should have been wider. I think they want a third, so make it close.
Totally agree, I don't get why people think this was close at all, people don't know how to score fights I guess, I had it 10 rounds to 2 for Leo, it's like you said, rounds were close but clear enough for Santa Cruz, and this coming from a Cuban who has criticised Leo before for not fighting Rigo, but fair is fair.

Just finished watching it. Great fight, not as great as the first one obviously. I thought the right guy won it, I think Cruz won it a little wider.

What a classy guy Frampton is. Cruz too. Those two guys are stand up guys. I like them both.

                      Trilogy is needed.
