But if GGG was in fact presented with a $15m offer to fight sometime earlier than September 2017, then I'd say GGG is more to blame.
      Do you follow boxing?

GBP are the ones dictating Sept17.

Only ppl to blame is GBP, here is a reminder.

Cotto vs Canelo with winner fighting GGG, GBP need to marinate so pick Khan.

Canelo doesnt fk around so vacates the WBC and drops down to fight Liam Smith.

Canelo could fight GGG in May but wont.

Scenario 1- ppv does 1 million with canelo.
PPV Buys-1 million buys at $70= 70 million dollars
Gate-100,000 at $500 average ticket price=50 million dollars

        15/120=12.5 percent of overall revenue

Scenario 2-ppv does 500,000 with canelo
        PPV Buys-500,000 at $70 = 35 million
Gate is the same at 50 million

        15/85=17 percent of the revenue

K2 isn't dumb. They know after golovkin jacobs numbers that will match the smith canelo numbers this flat fee piece of **** offer will make no sense. Now $15 million sounds a lot to the average casual dumass on NSB. K2 and GPB know the fight will do at least 500,000 buys. This fight will do close to a million. When you break the numbers down, 15 million is a terrible offer. After golovkin jacobs GPP will have no leg to stand on. Canelo and GPB are not getting rich off golovkin. Only logical choice for this fight is to do a split offer to golovkin.
You believe GGG vs Jacobs does 300k buys ?

The cable providers and HBO take almost half of the PPV money. That $70 mil is really $35 mil and the gate is more like $10 mil. Then theres all the costs, undercard etc.

And that's with it doing exceptionally well, which is unlikely imo. £15m is a great deal imo.

15 million flat is a very decent offer under any circumstances for a fighter with Golovkin's present stature.

By way of comparison, Manny Pacquiao earned 15 million against DLH, and that was WITH a piece of the upside.

As I said in another thread, it is my opinion that Lil g will wind up with a deal similar to that being offered to Jr.

That is, assuming his fight with Jacobs does better than his fight with Lemieux.

If it is another disappointment, then he will get offered less.

Satiev, you're one of my fav posters. and your math is on point. however, there is one thing you are not taking into consideration that all promoters do, but never talk about because it undermines their fighters.

it's odds. say you have 1000 dollars. are you more likely to throw up for a gamble when you have an 80% chance of winning or 20% chance of winning?

This is the exact scenerio here. Oscar and Bernard can't say, because Canelo only has 20% chance of winning.... we demand more money. Nobody can ever say that. but this is a fact of reality.

Look at the way Bernard Hopkins talks about GGG. He is in admiration. He knows Canelo will lose. Look at the post fight breakdown of GGG/Lemiuex. Hopkins knows. He also talked about Hatton losing to Pacquiao right before it happened. He's very realistic. Same with Oscar they can say what they want. look at what they do. dodging this fight at every opportunity against Canelo's wishes.

The point is 15 million is a lowball. but on GGG's end. it's the closest proximity of a sure thing. It's even more of a sure thing than Jacobs. Yes Jacobs is more dangerous than Canelo.

So GGG can finally get his legacy fight, money fight and future career investment all in 1 fight.

I honestly think GGG wins this fight 9/10 times. he is just that bad a match-up than Canelo. Jacobs is more dangerous because he can hit an acceleration and power gear that Canelo simple does not have. Canelo is very very overrated.
