Canelo/Smith - 300K - earning only 3.5M
Canelo/Khan - 600K - earning only 3.5M while Khan recived 13M
Canelo/Cotto - 900K - earning only 5M while Cotto recived 15M
Canelo/Lara - 315K - earining only 1.5M while Lara earned 1M
Canelo/Angulo - 350K - earning only 1.25M while Angulo earned 750K
Canelo/Mayweather - 2.2M - earning only 5M while Mayweather earned 41M
So 15 million is too much even if the fight does 900K
are you serious?
On just the US PPV alone, Alvarez-Smith cleared $10m, Alvarez-Khan cleared $18m, Cotto-Alvarez cleared $27m, and Alvarez-Lara and Alvarez-Angulo both cleared $8m.
If the Schaefer structure still holds, the take is split 85/15 Alvarez after costs are covered.
but if he waits too long and ends up too old to make the fight interesting it takes a lot away from what it could have been.
Are you aware that the one delaying the fight is Canelo and not Golovkin? Who set the date September 2017 when they could have fought as soon as May 2016? And now GGG is delaying the fight SMH...
Golovkin is not anymore in desperation mode. The first thing I will say is... I think they will accept a 15 million offer. I think it might be false that there was that kind of offer. That's just GBP spreading rumours to distract people.
Having said that... Golovkin is probably making between 3-5 millions to fight Jacobs. Same he made against Brook. And any of the other fights being offered to him include him making at least 5 millions. He's not desperated at all... he doesn't need our pity clearly.

Not too mention all his sponsorships with apple, jordan, clothing companies, and khazakh banks. They act like he's struggling to pay his mortgage.

I'm not saying that it's only GGG's fault; I don't know everything that is happening behind closed doors. Canelo is clearly not in a rush to make this fight though.
But if GGG was in fact presented with a $15m offer to fight sometime earlier than September 2017, then I'd say GGG is more to blame.
If Golovkin does anywhere close to the canelo smith numbers this is a 60/40 purse. If he beats canelo smith with jacobs it's 50/50. I explain the math below. We can all agree this ppv with canelo will do minimum 500,000 buys and sell out 100,000 tickets.
Scenario 1- ppv does 1 million with canelo.
PPV Buys-1 million buys at $70= 70 million dollars
Gate-100,000 at $500 average ticket price=50 million dollars
15/120=12.5 percent of overall revenue
Scenario 2-ppv does 500,000 with canelo
PPV Buys-500,000 at $70 = 35 million
Gate is the same at 50 million
15/85=17 percent of the revenue
K2 isn't dumb. They know after golovkin jacobs numbers that will match the smith canelo numbers this flat fee piece of **** offer will make no sense. Now $15 million sounds a lot to the average casual dumass on NSB. K2 and GPB know the fight will do at least 500,000 buys. This fight will do close to a million. When you break the numbers down, 15 million is a terrible offer. After golovkin jacobs GPP will have no leg to stand on. Canelo and GPB are not getting rich off golovkin. Only logical choice for this fight is to do a split offer to golovkin.
I agree a flat-fee isn't fair for GGG, who is not your typical "B-side" opponent, and who will be responsible for the fight doing the numbers it does.
However, Canelo is the true A-side, and it's not even up for debate.
What I really wanted to point out here, doe, is that your "50-million" gate figure is crazy... Lunacy...
Lol this fight will be lucky to do 1/4 that . It will probably be about a 11-13 million dollar live-gate revenue. Pac/Mayweather barely broke 20 million.
Most likely this fight won't be a stadium-type affair, it'll be brought to Vegas.
I think you're underestimating the amount of revenue the PPV will generate: I'm thinking this fight does about 1.3-1.8 million.
If it sold any less than 850k, it'd be a huge bust, and disappointment.
If the fight goes down I think it easily clears 1 mil ppv buys a lot of Mexicans would order it and casuals too because it's a super fight with two of the more known names, if promoted right could do 1.5 to 2 mil buys.
