Comments Thread For: Arum: Lomachenko is Intrigued By Prospect of Fighting Gamboa

Bob Arum still considers a rematch with Orlando Salido as the top option for Vasyl Lomachenko's next fight. Ukraine's Lomachenko wants to avenge the lone loss on his professional record against the rugged Mexican that defeated him by split decision in March 2014. There is another fan-friendly fight Lomachenko and Arum are considering, though.

This is my dream fight for 2017 but Gamboa needs a couple of solid tune-ups first

It indeed would be a great fight to have, didn't Gamboa put a beating on Salido?
So they have a common opponent, Gamboa did better (I still think Lomachenko beat Salido though) but that was a good while ago and I don't believe Lomachenko has a size advantage over YG so it could be a very hard fight to call 50/50 maybe.
2017 could very well absolutely shiet all over 2016, fingers crossed.

nope this is how loma likes it...laid off fighters that have a name...he's the king of match making every since his loss...minimal risk/huge name/lay off/ recently looked bad..

all of his wins have that walters and martinez...

i figured we werent getting salido next...it didnt follow his pattern..

Too late, Gamboa isn't a fraction of his former self. Thank SMS and his current handlers for that.

Abner Mares came back from a long lay off to beat a high ranking opponent, don't you think you're making excuses?
If he fights Gamboa a guy who was outboxing Terence Crawford until size difference and stamina issues came into it how do you think Lomachenko would fair against that?
Bare in mind TC fought Gamboa when he had a lay off of a year as well.

C'mon bro, Lomachenko has had tougher opposition in his first 7 fights than anyone from 140 to heavyweight has. But Gamboa does nothing for Lomachenko at this point. If he manhandled Gary Russell Jr, he'll annihilate Gamboa.

hell the warriors were up 3 to 1 UNTIL..
do i look like i give a *** about UNTILS??

and to your point about gamboa/crawford..i didnt give crawford real huge credit for that fight and still dont, but i agrue dummies who say he was weight bullying when gamboa had held a belt at 135...crawford proved his worth at 135 vs burns and the juice head...

loma hasnt did anything at 130 except take the easiest situational fights...meanwhile everyone else in tough!

pedraza will have a year layoff or so layoff vs tank...but he also has the benefit of tank being a prospect that hasnt fought anyone near his level
