Some changes based on the first 5 fights

I wanted to thank everyone who has participated and/or encouraged others to participate, as well as to everyone who has made suggestions about how the game should be run, which fights should be included etc. Now that we're several fights in, I took some time to reflect on how things have gone and what people have said. My main takeaways were:

-I am going to merge 'dominant' in with 'wide'. Basically no one ever picks a dominant decision. That hopefully means that none of the fights were too uneven on paper, but also means it's existence is useless.

-Now, when picking KO you will only need to guess which third of the fight the KO is in. Some players felt that picking a round for KO was unnecessary. Now you will indicate a KO in rounds 1-4, 5-8, 9-12. For 10 rounders this will be 1-3, 4-6, 7-10.

-Partial credit for incorrect details will be removed. Considering that I am reducing the number of detail options available, these partial credits will not be needed anymore. You will now get 20 pts for correct fighter, 5 for correct method, and 5 for correct detail.

      - I will now be collecting picks in a poll. You will now only need to post in the pick 'em threads to indicate use of a 2X or 3X multiplier. Since there are now just 10 possible combos of fighter, method and detail for a pick, and considering great demand for a simplified pick process, this is what seems to make the most sense. This should make all of our lives simpler. I appreciate the patience so many of you have had with the pick format.

      - 'UPDATE' has been removed. The old 'UPDATE' scheme was barely used, and I forgot to send out the updates once. Mass mentioning users close to fight night who have yet to make a pick, but who have participated before, seems to be agreeable. If you have not participated in any Pick 'Em threads yet and want a reminder on the day of fight night, or if you would like to opt out of being included in future mentions, PM me.

-You should now expect leaderboard updates within 24 hours. Most of the leaderboard changes were handled very quickly, however one time it took a few days. I have been working out kinks in how I handle picks and render results to reduce manual labor required, and expect that delays of this magnitude will not happen again. Though I hope to get most done within an hour, I want to leave myself the wiggle room for potential issues that come up or for when I am not around my computer immediately after one of the fights.

-The leaderboard will be adjusted to include total number of picks made and number of correct picks for each player. While I am looking to avoid the needlessly complex leaderboard of BoxRec's PTBF, a few players have suggested that this would be information they'd want to see. I agree that this is a logical thing to add.

All of the above changes will be implemented as of Pick'Em #6. I will change the description included in the rules to match these changes on Sunday when I update the leaderboard for Thurman-Garcia.

Those scorecards were embarrassing. Thurman exposed DSG. Garcia landed a dozen or two clean shots at most.

Officially the outcome is Thurman,DEC,CLOSE. Scores will be updated tomorrow.

Man, I dunno why I changed my prediction last min lol I kept saying Thurman would be too busy for DG. Dammit gut.

Anyway, it was a poor night for both guys imo. Neither man closed out the show, DG just sat back and showedn o urgency and Thurman ran for full 3 rounds and even though DG didnt do much, he still ended up winning the championship rounds.

I'm tired of the ww division now. All these guys are premadonnas who talk and never back it up. If only Pac could be fully fit and ready and tear all these welters apart.

For the record, I had it 7-5 Thurman.

                Scores are updated

If you picked Garcia and this was your first Pick 'Em, you aren't on the leaderboard right now. (I will add you later).

Before I go on to add info about how many picks people have made, I have a baseball draft to get to. But that's coming tonight as well.

And of course, as per usual, I will take some time later in the week to thumb through the scores to make sure everyone is where they should be. Let me know if you see anything that looks incorrect.
