Impressions of a photographer who saw Canelo's weigh gain after the weigh in

This guy worked in the Canelo Cotto fight shooting Canelo. He saw the transformation after the weigh in. He also states that Canelo being 187 against Khan was bullshit, of course.

For the people reading Canelo coming in at 187 on fight night against Khan. There are numerous sources that states he came in at various weights on fight night , from 172 all the way from what Khan was quoted saying "187 pounds". My personal experience when I was working Canelo Cotto , he was rumored to be around 180 against Cotto. From what I saw thats highly believable him at the weigh in and him on fight day in the dressing room when I was shooting him , he was huge . On a Friday him and I being almost equal in size the next day his whole body doubled in size, craziest transformation I ever seen. It like reminded me in DBZ when Vegeta 1st witnessed Zarbon's transformation.

I don't believe in weight bullies. Of you can make the weight you can make the weight.

I know. Though I suspect from those who manage to dehydrate 20 pounds for a weigh in. They are probably using illegal **** to manage that.

        Its interesting to see.

Most guys who put on huge amounts of weight over-night tend to look like death at the weigh-ins, Canelo looks solid.

I'd guess he's been around 175 for the last few fights.

          I don't think Canelo is 180 on fight night--most likely between 170-175.

But my question is, why aren't weigh in's mandatory on fight night? And when they're done, why can't they use good digital scales instead of crappy bathroom scales? I'd be very interested to see what Chavez Jr. weighs.

Because fighters don't want people to know their real weight, because it's then used against them in negotiations. For example, requesting catchweights. Or being able to say stuff like: "I'm not a middleweight yet" when you outweigh most of the middleweights fight night.
Also people can suspect when they see a fighter put on 20 pounds. They would be suspect of the use of diurethics and other similar drugs. I also addressed this on: //krikya360.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=731245

187 was obviously ridiculous. I know he rehydrates a lot, but 32lbs? lol.

Khan was in a special needs unit at school though so he's not smart enough to understand that his story is not even a believable amount.

Lol at that DBZ reference. 180 is too excessive. He wouldn't be able to put on over 20lb and remain sharp. He looks as though he is in the high 60s low 70s.

Guys put on over 20lbs all the time (or used to anyways, WBC & IBF are cracking down on it).

Angulo went from 154lbs to 174lbs vs Lara.
Quillin went from 160lbs to +180lbs vs Zerafa.

                    And there's the Canelo/Angulo fight. (155lbs to 174lbs)
Canelo weighed in at 155 lbs on Friday night missing the 154lbs limit. He was then required to have a secondary weigh-in, requested by Angulo, and Canelo weighed 166lbs at 3:00 pm the day of the fight. He then re-hydrated an additional 8lbs to come into the fight at 174 against Angulo. (Showtime screwed up reporting Canelo at 172lbs & Angulo at 174lbs, it was vice versa - Kevin Iole caught it when he spoke with the commission and I posted his tweets about it on this board).

So Canelo went from 155 to 174 and that was over two and half years ago. He's older now and naturally heavier. It's totally reasonable that he's in the 180's during his fights. That's why I feel the Chavez/Alvarez fight won't be about size, they're closer than most people realize.
