By whom? I picked Ward by late stoppage actually. I didn't think Kovalev would be able handle Wards inside tactics. But I was wrong, he's much tougher than I gave him credit for.

Can anyone confirm or deny Ward's contract with HBO is over? If Ward's contract with HBO is done he's gonna have to deal with HBO before Kovalev anyway. And if thats the case what happens to a rematch clause if Kovalev is on HBO & can't fight off HBO & Ward is with Showtime or whoever & can't fight off of that network? So I think some of you guys might be getting ahead of yourselfs about Kov vs Ward II when that fight won't be makeable til Ward & HBO sit down.

Also there are too many f#cking contracts in boxing & this is just another reason everyone needs to be under one roof like every other f#cking sport in the world tries to do with the best athletes in their particular sport.

They lost $3m and barely escaped with a lucky decision. Of course they don't want the rematch

Careful writing checks you can't cash, friend. All talk flies out the window when Kovalev gets his second and final chance to un-glue Ward from his daydreams that he won the fight. I wouldn't skroo around and miss the rematch for anything.

#3: What were your instructions to Sergey when it was clear that Ward was making a comeback in the 2nd half of the fight?
These are the type questions that will be answered in the rematch. And I'd imagine Kovalev will know he only has one last chance to answer all of them fully.

But articles like this just give Ward haters sonething else to say to make it seem like he's a bum. I have seen nothing from Ward to indicate the rematch isn't happening. If someone has evidence of it (contract disputes, Ward wanting another tune-up, injury, etc.), please let us know. Otherwise, kill the bickering and let's see what's what around April of next year.
I'm not going searching for the articles, but Ward has said more than once that a rematch is unnecessary... that somehow he has Kovalev figured out fully, and that it would be a wide points win for him if he fights Kovalev again. That and some other related things he's said are indicators he doesn't want a rematch.

This is what I don't understand, people not talking about THIS matchup now. It would be a better seller than the Ward fight, and would make the perfect setup for the rematch.

yeah i dont know why people are talking about a rematch like its already been made. Dont know why people are assuming there will be one at all, i doubt there will. Rightly or wrongly, wards got that name of kovalev on his cv and i highly doubt hes going to fight him again. No reason to, american fans say he rightfully won the fight so its not like he has to prove anything to them, isnt under much pressure.
