If Walters stayed in the ring for the rest of the fight, and ended up with a limp or impaired speech, the same people calling him a coward would be asking why he or his corner didn't stop the fight.

Calling Walters a coward would require me to call Duran a coward, and that ain't happening.
Walters wasn't getting pummeled. He was getting outboxed. He didn't even try to change that. He quit instead. What do you mean he wasn't going to come out throwing bombs and turn the fight around? How do you know? He never even tried. If he had tried, even one round, and failed, than fans wouldn't be hard on him. He didn't have the heart to even try. What kind of bull**** attitude is that for a world class boxer to have? "I lost the first half of the fight, might as well quit."

Seriously, stop this ridiculous notion that Walters was taking a beating and getting out was about his health. I swear it's like people don't actually watch boxing if they think THAT was a beating.

"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."

He didnt have to stay in the ring getting battered the whole fight. Hell im one of the first saying fighters should be pulled out when they are getting beat up. Walters wasnt getting beat up though. Even just one more round where he tried something different would have probably been enough for me.

Duran was a different situation, though very similar. And crucially he had gone to the well countless times before the SRL fight, and would continue to do so many times afterwards.

By Walters' own admission, he barely made it out of round 7, and that was the round that Lomachenko seriously turned it up. I did actually watch the fight, and Lomachenko's shots were knocking Walters around the ring and snapping his head back, and he was outclassing him so badly that he was pretty much boxing circles around him with his movement. Walters was asking his corner for advice, and even they didn't know what to do. No gamelan. No confidence. No need to continue.

You've never been in a boxing ring if you think that 7th round WASN'T a beating. Lomachenko literally beat the fight out of his opponent. Just because there have been worse beatings doesn't mean that one wasn't given, that would have only gotten worse.
