Walters didn't even TRY. All he had to do was try, and boxing fans could forgive him for throwing in the towel. He didn't and now he has a long, difficult road ahead to come back from this.

Confusing because he turned the fight down before because of the money and if reports are correct he made less than he was originally offered. Who is his Manager because clearly somebody is not on the same page! I don't think Warmup matters!

And you're starting to attack people for not knowing boxing, well I have to question how much boxing you've seen if you think that 7th round was a beating worth quitting over. That wasn't even the worst beating a fighter has taken in a round in the last week. Thousands of fighters have recovered from worst than that to win fights. Chavez Jr. took 12 rounds of that and nearly beat Martinez in the 12th.

The question becomes, should you stay there and get Lacy'd for 12 rounds and hear how you got ruined in one fight, or should you go out like Duran and hear "you quit" for the rest of your life, but get some other notabe wins in your career? Walters was on his way to getting Lacy'd, who knows how 12 rounds of that sustained beating would have affected him. It's a bad attitude to have in boxing, "I can't win, so i'm going to quit", this is why come from behind 10-12 round TKO's are so dramatic. And how about Cotto wining all 6 rounds vs Margarito, but Margarito never quit, he just tried harder every round and eventually got the TKO, although we will never know if there was foul play in volved in that fight with the gloves but there's no way to have plaster in your chin and Marg took some shots from Cotto all night
