Virgil was pretending he cared about Kovalev but in fact he (and James Prince) tried everything in a very calculated way to make Kovalev mad.

Brought up Russia vs USA. Brought up Kovalev's dead father. Brought up Kovalev's relationship with his trainer. Tried to create division between Kovalev and his promoter talking about how he's not getting paid enough. Etc.

So it was total bull**** that Virgil was saying these things to look out for Kovalev. He went point by point trying to create discord and piss off Kovalev.

Hey, it's all part of the mental game. Just don't act like you doing it to help Kovalev. You doing it to help yourself, and hurt Kovalev. But, Kovalev looked unphased. Can't wait for Saturday.

Kovalev is pros pro.

The man is a true professional who punishes his opponents.
He is no pushover. JDJ has a great gameplan.

He always knew andre ward had to move up eventually . Ward has many flaws in his game and gets away with it with slow domestic level opposition with no power.
