Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez Explains Why Andre Ward is NOT Ready For Kovalev

World class trainer Abel Sanchez is very familiar with unbeaten former super middleweight champion Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs). The Oakland native faces WBA/WBO/IBF light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1, 26KOs) Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas strip in a fight distributed by HBO pay-per-view.

Styles make the fight, don't base Saturdays fight off any of their previous bouts. They both will come with they "A" this weekend.

Styles makes fights and Ward has the skills to neutralize power, even tough Kova has his own skills but wont be enough. Ward will give Kovalev his first profesional L as he would do against GGG who im a fan of.

... prepared or not, after Ward signed to fight Kovalev, he made $2.7 million (vs Barrera + Brand) and now he's making a guaranteed $5 million... which would lead to an over $8 million salary this year... Ward earned enough under the circumstances, even if he loses vs Kovalev...

          Najib Mohammedi was though right?

What would he have proved by stopping Brand? I don't get when people criticise a guy that obviously isn't a power puncher for not stopping an opponent.

"He is not as sharp, not only technically but mentally he is not as sharp."
Umm what? Is he comparing current Ward to previous Ward? Or comparing to Kovalev?

"The Brand fight showed you that he is not. He fought a guy that really didn't belong in the ring with him and went 12 rounds."
Wtf is he on about? So Ward isn't ready because Brand went 12 rounds? He sure has a case.... Ward isn't even known for knocking people out so wtf is this supposed to mean?
