I am really looking forward to this fight so it would be a great shame to see it cancelled over this, something which almost looked like another misunderstanding. Get it on.
What about honor to the sport of boxing? honor amongst thieves ( both have been busted for similar charges ) laughable. Deontay Wilder never took a short cut he earned everything the hard way he didnt need an edge over his opponent in training or something to motivate him...all he needed was the American spirit : hard work dedication!

If Bermaine had that they wouldn't have fought all Russian athletes ordered to dope sad
Povetkin was found to have microscopic residual traces just over a hundred days after it was legal, did he deserve to be banned ? Going by the rules no, he hadn't significant amounts to warrant a ban. Of course this is all by the rules but he should be banned anyway right ?

I'd love for a level playing field. But the testing procedures are too primitive, the drugs too advanced and the culture of cheating too endemic at every level to ever make that a reality again.

It's a shitshow from start to finish, but you know this already, don't you?

Conte stated years ago that PED technology has and will always be ahead of the testing methods. People come up with all kinds of way to cheat when fame and fortune are at stake.

Props to Povetkin for going through with the fight anyway........no matter what his reasons were.

You'd prefer one of the few solid HW fights this year to be cancelled instead? As fans, we win when it goes through.

I disagree we are only to expect the same scandals to continue ; vacated belts more delays due to trials and hearings over this kind of tolerance/charades for cheaters. Bermaine should be suspended immediately this fight should be canceled and Alexander should move right into mandatory position for the WBC title : why give the fighters a list of banned substances and issue warning if you are not going suspend these cheaters -- whats the point of even having drug testing?

Now they have compromised their standards by arguing that ' its just a little ' of this banned substance in his system knowing very well that that is easily explained by masking agents or a failed attempt to cover it up....regardless with this leeway a cheater can now go into the these championship fights with the gained condition they expected to achieve by using these banned substances....in other words : the work ; recovery and intense training can not be taken away and the conditioning has been achieved...in this case Bermaine had to pay the price of 75k for it you can argue its a fair price for an advantage -- its all bargaining at this point....all I have left to say is I hope this backfires on Pedvetkin and lets see these same posters cry about ' cheating ' if he gets KFTO I will be hysterically laughing at these hypocrites.

                  Pardon my rant its late.

So the decision is on the other team? Why would the sanctioning body allow a dirty fighter to fight?

Don't get me wrong, I agree on your principle here. Just saying, I'd like to see the fight regardless, under said circumstances even. Doesn't sound like Stiverne is going to gain some huge, immediate advantage in any way and Riabinsky obviously doesn't want to cancel the show. It's a good fight and it doesn't have to be cancelled over this, something which is rather minor, at the end of the day.
