But even if it had still been 55/45, that doesn't mean Canelo couldn't have made that offer to GGG.

If he'd made it, and Golovkin had rejected it, that would have been a much better look for Canelo than just vacating without making any offer at all.

The offer wasn't made because GGG would have taken it in a heart beat and Canelo doesn't want to fight GGG till he's over the hill, and you know it.

Just be honest for once, ffs.
Umm no! It was a 55/45 split because at the time CanYellow was the Champion and GGG was the Interim Champion. Which if goes to bid split 55/45 instead of normal 70/30.

So if they were going to take $10,000,000 in a heartbeat then. Why not take it in 2 heartbeats now??? Did the U.S. dollar go down since then??? Does he want more for inflation???

The purse split for for WBC interim vs champion is no longer 55/45. But even if it had been 50/50 on a purse bid, that wouldn't have prevented Canelo from making that offer to GGG, and GGG would know that if he rejected it - no fight.

The situation now is different than it was back then. Canelo is no longer the champ - Golovkin is! Had you forgotten about that?

And the fight would have happened next, immediately. No "Sept 2017 at the earliest" bullcrap - right then!

The fight will be made at some point, or not made. It is not likely that Golovkin will lose until he moves up to 168, but Canelo could very well lose to the first 160 pounder he faces, then no one will pay $5 to see them fight each other.
I'd pay $5 to see the fight. lol
Alvarez has had a terrible 2016. He started out the year as the media's "next super star" and is ending it as the punch line of a lot of bad jokes.
Oscar still thinks he has the #1 attraction in boxing and the privileges that go with it. But the dismal PPV numbers from Alvarez's last fight tell a different story. Most fans see Alvatez as ducking Golovkin, no matter what Oscar's PR is saying.

Oscar thought that Floyd's retirement leaving the Mexican holiday dates open for Canelo would sky-rocket his PPV sales.

But look what happened: From 900k vs Cotto and 500k vs Khan - who was a terrible opponent for Canelo - down to 250k vs Smith.

What we do know is that there was an offer and that there has been ZERO indication that ODLH was lying about the amount. Further to that Loeffler acknowledged to the LA Times that it was a flat fee offer.

So you think ggg should sign for ten million now and not even try to get tens of millions, even though it's highly likely he will get a better deal.He should just sit back quietly wait until Canelo fights him in September, hoping that Mr. "Ginger headed I'm a MW Mexican who doesn't **** around here have my belt" can man up.

You think ggg should accept a deal now for a fight damn near a year away and not negotiate himself a better deal. Especially knowing that he's a Strong B+ side and a major component to making the biggest fight in the sport. Knowing he has the media and large swath of casuals supporting him. If Canelo wasn't tremendously under pressure, they would constantly be talking ggg name.

Ha, do yourself a favor, stay the **** away from negotiating anything. I mean don't even negotiate with your girlfriend, because you suck at this.
Lord, you've put together some sizable essays in defence of GGG. Youre trying too hard and youve lost credibility as an unbiased opinion with no objective feedback.

My only advice to you...get his C..ck out of your mouth.

The point I'm making is that sending GGG an offer for a fight in a years time, and expecting it to come back signed, without any negotiations, is bullshit!

No way did Oscar think there was any chance that it would happen.

If Canelo wanted to fight GGG, why didn't he make him an offer when he was WBC champ and GGG was his mando?

If Canelo wanted to fight GGG, why didn't he send an offer to fight him next, rather than in a years time?

Don't forget the networks take 1/2 off 1st...
The WBA enforced that split when no agreement had been reached. **** it. Inactivity and zero drawing power have hampered Jacobs.

On a side note a 70/30 split for Canelo-GGG is beyond reasonable.

Canelo's balls are pinned to a wall in Abel's gym. Abel hits them with a mallet to mark time for his training rounds.
